Game is performing fine, but quest 2 is making it look weird

I am using the quest 2, when flying in VR, the ground keeps stuttering and weird blurry effects around the planes windshields can be seen. I cant screen shot it or anything because the Vr display on my monitor is showing everything in the sim to be working, no stutters or blur. but the headset is outputting these stutters and blurs. Any ideas what is causing the problem?

I did notice that the oculus app is saying to use USB 3 connection but I thought I was using USB 3 connection, that might be the issue but im very unsure what to do.
Refresh rate is 90 hz which ive played around with and was the same, automatic rendering resolution.

its frustrating because i can see how good the game can run in VR, but its not showing me it.

Could be several things but it’s impossible to suggest anything without knowing what hardware you’re using.

Yes, I get these as well.

The stutters are down to the computer system - as two images need to be generated for VR, it is likely to overload CPU, GPU and/or memory. If you can’t tolerate them you need to reduce your settings (LOD etc) in the sim, or get a better system.

I think the blurry windscreen is down to the software running the Quest 2 and the link to the computer. Certainly you need a USB3 port, and if occulus app is not recognising it as USB3 this is a problem. I’ve got several USB3 outlets on my computer, but only one of these is recognised as such by the Occulus app. I don’t know if you’re running the Open XR toolkit - the options in that (e.g. turbo mode) are useful, but inevitably have a downside, and can contribute to effects such as this blurring.

Personally, I’ve spent a lot of time tuning the computer, the Occulus app and the Open XR tookit. The finished product is far from perfect (still getting some stutters and blurring of the windshield), but I put up with this rather than reduce the resolution (my primary bugbear). The scenery is good at higher altitudes and the dashboard usable - these are the two places I’m generally viewing, so overall I enjoy my flights and try not to worry about the problems.

I remember in the past it not having this issue, maybe i need to change the settings

@Steamy5771 When you are in vr Tap the Right CTRL & the NumPad 1 (END) at the same time on your keyboard.

Isn’t the blurry effect from Motion Reprojection (ASW)? I had to go a 3080ti+9700K@5Ghz so I could use ASW45 at half of 72Hz (36FPS) using the OpenXR ToolKit with NIS/FSR/CAS/FFR upscaling + DLSS-Quality. At that point, ASW is very clear and minimal artifacts (not blurry).

I’ll try this tomorrow, do you mean the end key too?

unsure, im not used to vr really
