Just seen a YouTube video about the Win10 Game Mode and Graphics Setting that could affect the performance in FS2020. Suggested to try turning the Game Mode to OFF especially for more powerful PC’s? The Game Mode sub mode Graphics Settings I have set to ‘Microsoft Store App’ and selected ‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’ to ‘High Performance’. Not sure what to think of this? Also the need for those with Nvidia GPU’s to adjust the Nvidia settings, to increase performance? Any posts with suggestions about this?
Any luck with this? I have a RTX 3070 and keen to see what NVIDIA settings will enhance performance…

Lately the advice is to turn off “game mode” because it’s outdated. The same goes for “Hardware acceleration”. Maybe older GPU’s can still benefit from these settings.
I turned them both off and experienced a smoother performance. There was no FPS increase but for me 30+ is sufficient.
I’d recommend you just try these different settings. (Remember to reboot your Pc in between).

I have been flying exclusively in VR since the update. I have a 2080TI and have a significantly smoother experience with both game mode and hardware acceleration off. This is also true for xplane and prepar3d v4 and v5.
I have left the settings as they are as seen in my intro comment. I have turned the FS graphics settings from med to high, buildings, trees, clouds, and increased the traffic to 70%. Have not noticed any reduced performance, but it looks much better visually. I am surprised at such smooth performance with my i7-6700K cpu (overclocked) , and only a GTX980Ti! Maybe the extra 16GB ram helps to 32GB. Obviously SSD drives, helps too, and I regularly optimize and clean the drives.
What’s the latest advice re HAGS and Game Mode?
