I have been using 2024 on Game Pass and have recently been getting some error messages from the sim when playing. I believe it’s because I had a couple of the base packs in my marketplace that I started to install and then cancelled, as it started after that. That aside, I have been thinking about purchasing 2024 and ditching playing on Game Pass. I did this with 2020 (purchased) but didn’t play that on Game Pass. Will performance improve, or is there any advantage with purchasing the sim over playing on Game Pass other than owning? I have great performance on 2020 and DID have great performance with 2024, but have now got occasional stutters. If I do go down the purchase path I was going to purchase the Aviator Edition, but have since read that many aircraft are still bugged and it would be a better experience buying the base sim and purchasing desired aircraft from third party developers, any opinions on this is greatly appreciated.
There is no performance gain between owning the sim and using gamepass. If you are having issues with MSFS 2024 and you think it might be an install issue then merely deinstall the sim using the xbox app and then reinstall it - it will only take a few minutes.
I’ve been using the sim with gamepass for years without any major issues along with other games that I play and it is very cost effective. I’ve purchased planes from the marketplace along with directly from 3rd parties seamlessly. If the sim is the only game you play with gamepass and you intend on playing it for awhile then I would definitely consider purchasing it.
I did the uninstall/ reinstall and it seems to have sorted things out. Thanks.
