I just bought MSFS on Steam yesterday, installed it, didn’t have a chance to play and then went to play it this morning. It launched once, I fired it up for 5 minutes to check my controllers.
Got this update with this virus warning and updated Windows, but my game will not launch now, assuming due to Windows deleting the questionable file. I also went to Windows Security and Allowed all the “dangerous” files that Microsoft gave me. Now when I launch FlightSim.exe, the window starts for a few seconds (stays black), and then closes.
Same here. Updated computer. Wouldn’t launch. Uninstalled and now an unable to reinstall the program. 7900x3d gigabyte board and corsair memory. 4090 video
I recently (pre SU12) did a “verify file integrity” to reinstall and try to fix some issues. Well… now I lost my steam overlay and can’t purchase through the marketplace. :\
I ended up “uninstalling” through Steam, then going to Apps in Windows to make sure it was gone. Then going to where it was installed and removing the folders. Now I’m reinstalling fresh.
I’ve tried to clean my MSFS stuff off my drives, but I had it installed through Gamepass previously (haven’t played since August 2022), and I just purchased it through Steam on Mar 20 since it was on sale. I’ll try uninstalling through Steam then deleting everything I can track down and report back.
Same. Be strong, my friend. The downloads are large. Don’t forget once you get the core game installed to go into the Content Manager and download all of that too.
Yeah, no luck. I had put in a for a refund request through Steam, and they actually gave it to me right away even though I had 5 hours of “play” (install) time on the game. After doing some research, I decided I wanted the Steam version over the MS version still so I bought it again after clearing out 150gb worth of data I found and still crashes immediately as before. I’m assuming they’ll fix it shortly, I can’t be the ONLY person having this problem.
I have the store bought version. It shows I have a digital ownership and the launcher will not do anything. Never had this much trouble in the past with this
I had a “Please insert the Microsoft Flight Simulator Game Disc” problem in my MSFS that I bought from the Microsoft Store. I used to log into my PC with a local account. When I changed it to a Microsoft account, the problem went away.
Don’t forget once you get the core game installed to go into the Content Manager and download all of that too.
