Game takes about 10 minutes to start

Brief description of the issue:
When starting the game, it “Checks for update” for more than 5 minutes every time, then loads for several minutes.

What speeds does your internet give? is there plenty of space free on the storage drive it’s installed on?

Internet test (limited to 100Mbps) gave 100 down and 100 up. About 40 gigs free on the SSD (non-system drive).

They say you should keep between 10 to 25% of your storage space free for best performance obviously don’t know what size your ssd is.

After the sim eventually starts is the menu system also abnormally slow (e.g. slow mouse clicks for selections etc)?

Can you try to turn off menu animations in the game settings?
