Today I turned on my PC to install the update and I got hit with a page saying I needed to install 171.03 GB. I’ve seen other people install this on youtube and they only had to do 17GB and then 5 for the World part. It also says "To complete the instillation Microsoft Flight Simulator will now download and install recommended content which leads me to believe that the game was uninstalled? Is anyone else having this issue? Would love some help if anyone knows what’s going on.
There were actually 3 download/installs to do, around 1.5GB from the MS Store, around 23GB after starting the sim and around 5GB for the WU bit.
Maybe try going to the MS Store and updating MSFS there, as for some reason, the sim did not push people to the MS Store this time and missing this bit might have caused your issue.
The updater probably misses it’s link to the installed folder. Point it to where you installed MSFS, and it should show you only need the download
Sorry do you know how to do that? It also oddly says that the update has already been done and there are no updates to do in the xbox ad microsoft stores.
Another odd thing is that my Norton 360 isn’t recognizing the game
Click on ‘select folder’ or something like that, and navigate to the main folder

If you happened to use a custom location for your Flight Simulator installation, then proceed there. Example: F:\Flight Simulator\
