A post was split to a new topic: CDI Mod for GNS530
I have purchased the WBSIM classic 172 (study level). I know that it comes with the PMS50 GNS530 but I like the WT better. Does anyone know if you can swap them out and if so how. I’ll also ask this of the developers.
You can’t currently swap the WT 530 into the WB Sim 172. The WB utilizes a custom bundled PSM50 GNS530 that comes with the enhancement mod. The developers have stated that porting to the WT 530 may be looked at after it is out of beta and becomes the default GNS 530/430 in MSFS.
Thanks for the information.
@Bishop398 hey amigo, I noted an update to the unit when I launched the sim this AM. Do you have a changelog for us?
Thanks!
There was a change on the 23rd if you haven’t logged in since then.

I got my GNS430 to display fields next to the map, and now it seems i have lost the highlighted text cursor on all screens. nothing i press lets me select anything. is there any fix? for example, i press menu to get this screen. i used to be able to scroll thru the options and click enter; now there is no highlighted item to scroll.

EDIT: ok, apparently menu rows are “selected”, i just cannot see which one. clicking enter after menu does take me to the next menu screen. but not seeing which item is selected makes it quite useless
Hi there. If you can find out a way to reproduce this reliably so we can test it we can have a look. Let us know from a clean boot of the GNS what knob turns and button presses can reproduce it for us.
Thanks!

i have been poking a lot of buttons, trying to recreate but have had no luck yet… will post again if i do
I tried to make a flight at Jorge Chavez International Airport (SPJC, Lima, Peru) and noticed that the Working Title GNS units don’t have the RNAV/RNP procedure for runway 16. Uninstalled and the default GPS doesn’t show the same issue - the approach is there.
Garmin GNS430 and GNS530 units do not support procedures with only RNP minima, and they will not be shown (as on the real units as well). In fact, this approach is double prohibited in the GNS: it has RNP only minima and it’s an Authorization Required approach.
Oh, I didn’t know that. Thank you very much for the info!
Pardon my neophyte question, but would you happen to know how to access a G530 in a 172 I’m using Microsoft Xbox operating system platform
You need Deluxe version of the sim, to have G530 172. Base version only comes with G1000 unit.
Hi Matt,
today I’ve discovered general problem as other have with turning off Avionics after time. I’m with Seneca as example and discovered that after engine start and all Avionic on, generators on and battery of course, system started drain power at engines idle, slowly slowly to lower battery 0 Voltage. Really I didn’t noticed this before (with GTN750) only now with installed WTT GNS530. So it looks like is somehow related with this package. I recommend also to other users with any aircraft equipped with WTT GNS530 only for now tests, no G1000Nxi this time. I can easy monitor Voltage, Ampers on battery and system. Simply if I put some more power then all is ok and battery starts to charge to full Voltage and capacity. Pls any other users here, can you pls do tests and confirm? Pls take to account that if you start plane and after while do taxi and fly, this isn’t probably problem because with engine power you will charge battery and all can be ok. Simply I’ve landed now and did little brake on Apron and after return I have all Avionics pff and battery Voltage 2 Volts, near minimum and my Low Voltage LED at Seneca was ON.
Yes, I’ll do tests also with GTN750 for sure but as I said, I didn’t noticed this problem before.
The GNS is unable to affect the battery systems, so this would not be related to any update to that.
Thnx for answer,
ok, I need to find that problem then.
Update: thnx Matt for clear info, I can confirm now this for Seneca only with WT GNS so after set more power hungry devices like Avionic, Landing lights and heating elements, Amper consumption started eat my battery also with engines ON and at idle power. I need set engines power little bit to have battery charged and not drained. I don’t know if this is correct functionality of sim, so I now understand about other users reports about Avionics went off after while.
With the new WT GNS430 is there a way to load flight plans or get NEXRAD like the old version before the AA update?
New issue discovered,
Flight started ok, no problems, Seneca with WT GNS530. After start arrival procedure aircarft follow RNAV ARR with CDI set to GPS without problems. But I have prepared ILS freq at NAV1 freq and HSI shows not GPS track (RNAV arr) but ils loc lateral indication. Again pls, aircraft follow in this time GPS correctly but CDI is set to GPS so no reason to indicate ILS needle state. If I click on CDI to VLOC1 and back to GPS all will indicate ok then. Looks like some bug in code.
Sry little description, HSI also shows ILS GS movement on HSI although CDI is set to GPS and following correctly actual RNAV arr procedure track.
I’m in the Asobo 172S with the Garmin 530/430 and when I use either unit to enable the ADS-B, I’m still not ever seeing any traffic on either display, at any range. Is that service only enabled for online traffic or multiplayer use, or am I missing something else? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
