Garmin upgrades Needed

I can’t find any word regarding upgrades to the Garmin 1000 and 3000. They incomplete and there is ample record of what is missing or inoperable. I would simply like to point out that this is a Flight Simulator, not a scenery simulator. Don’t get me wrong, the scenery in here is fantastic and adds to the realism and immersion, but right now I would rather have the Auto pilots work as they should(since it’s a Flight Simulator), then have Victoria Falls look more realistic.

Thanks

There is a 3rd party mod for each with good improvements.

Did you watch the first Dev Q&A session? They spoke about their plans to improve. It sounds like the original plan was to do a light touch and rely upon 3rd party developers and study level aircraft to fill the gaps, but they have rethought that idea and are now actively developing something more full-featured. They said it wouldn’t have every page and function, but would be a much fuller representation of the Garmin systems (could be wrong but I think they mentioned this is currently slated for update 9, or at least first itteration of it is).

I’m happy as long as it’s in the plans. I did not see the Q & A, but will in the future. Thanks for the response.

Thanks. Where do you get them?

Search forum for Working Title G1000, G3000, and GX mods. They are MUCH more feature-full. They also have a great CJ4 mod by the same team.

The Working Title mods for G1000/3000 are actually pretty good.

Although I’d love to know what’s going on with the development of them. Other than the quick update last week to make them compatible with Update 5, there hasn’t been any development from them in weeks now when they were going like gangbusters with new versions every few days prior to that.

Anyone know what’s going on with them?

Thanks to all. I will give them a try. Thanks for the response.

What are you talking about? G3000 just received a major 3.0 update. It provides compatibility with Longitude and integrated a mod that completely changes the appearance of the control screens!

Just visited GitHub. The last update was 0.2.2. That was 5 days ago and was just to to make it compatible with Patch 5. It was weeks before that since the last update. I check the GitHub page every couple of days for an update, because I want proper Longitude support.

Where is this V3 with all these extras you’re referring to? I want it, and it’s not on their GitHub page.

EDIT:

Found it. It’s in pre-release so not on their main GitHub page yet. Had to really dig around to find it. Will try it out shortly.

Where was this update done? In FS2020 or in the user mod. I have the latest Sim update and the G3000 didn’t change at all.

I’m in the plane with it now. It’s beautiful. And I’m loving the new functionality in the TBM. This is making my pants kind of lumpy…

In the mod. The default hasn’t changed.

I’ve found a couple of minor bugs in the newest pre-release version, but that’s why it’s pre-release. I’m excited to see where this mod is going. The new menus and options are awesome. And there are a lot of placeholders that I REALLY hope that they’ll implement. The new TSC layouts, colours and icons are awesome and like the real G3000 in the TBM at least cosmetically. This is a great upgrade from the stock G3000.

Now lets hope the G1000 follows suit shortly!

I just installed it and it is great. The map on the mfd is a lot better, and good enough that I don’t need another map up and running. AND, I was able to add an approach to a direct to. A lot more options and I agree with Crtunchmeister71 about the exciting place holders. Great mod.
