I have purchased the EGKK Gatwick scenery add on via Xbox market place on the X and when panning around it stutters a little bit and has cause the one and only CTDT when installed. It is the only scenery pack i have (well its uninstalled atm) i have tried retstart/reinstall/empty cache etc but with no joy it not excessively bad but MSFS runs perfectly when i do not have it it installed…any ideas?
If you do a search on “EGKK XBOX” you will find quite a few posts with this issue.
It’s basically a port from another sim and so isn’t optimised for MSFS. It’s always prudent to do some research before you make purchases — the instability of this one on Xbox has been discussed in these forums ad nauseum.
Ah ok thanks , was only cheap so no problem must be the only i time i did not research before purchase…it is my local airport and workplace so i just thought i would give it a try.
…and they happily keep selling that broken stuff!
You will have to keep to small GA aircraft with steam gauge instruments. I’m guessing it was never tested on Xbox. I have it myself on Xbox but only visit with small GA.
Yes not good is it.
Ok thanks, i do like to fly the 152 from Redhill (recently had my first real world lesson from there in a 152) so all is not lost i can do some fly overs etc.
It is this kind of reply that makes forums great ![]()
If you haven’t got it, the Redhill Airdrome add on (can’t remember who made it) is great! It’s my local and I used to fly from there (in sim) all the time.
I bought the Gatwick one a few years back and had the same issues you’re having now. Unfortunately, it’s permanently uninstalled for me!
Redhill was in the wishlist, does it work ok on the xbox x?
I have the series X and not encountered problems if I fly the sorts of planes you’d expect out of Redhill. The more complicated planes can cause issues but overall, it’s been fine for me.
Not heard any reports that it doesn’t. Burning Blue’s airports are lovely and mostly stable — but be aware, too much drone/exterior use does tend to black-screen them.
Cheers chaps , i will get that installed ![]()
Out of interest are the Shoreham/Biggin Hill/Goodwood any good on the box?
Shoreham isn’t available for Xbox.
Biggin Hill is a nice airport with decent stability, but not perfect. No idea about Goodwood personally but since the last dev update it’s apparently pretty hassle-free. The animated cars were causing issues but they’ve allegedly been addressed (rather than simply removed).
Any recommendations for any thing that is stable is much appreciated…oh the PMDG 737-800 is on the list , have used it on PC but would like to get it on the Box …yes or no?
Apologies not sure where Shoreham came from…wishful thinking maybe
The PMDG 737 is now really good stability-wise but the EFB and Navigraph/Simbrief import issues persist (if you use either). It’s a lovely airliner to hand-fly though!
Re airports, in a nutshell, these are the most stable (while featuring an enviable level of detail, in some way or other):

None of these have ever crashed on me, and only one or two have ever black-screened (and when they have, it’s quickly corrected itself).
Great stuff and i really appreciate your time and i will take a look through all of them ,re the 737 i do use/subscribe Simbrief/NaviG and this has been my cause for sitting on the fence so to speak.
