GeForce Now Discussion

The configuration of 5080 rigs on GFN is pretty wild in this regard, they have around 46 GB of VRAM, so this isn’t an issue at all, just a simple misconfiguration.

Using XOutput I’ve finally managed to get my Turtle Beach VelocityOne yoke and pedals working 99% in GeForce Now. This solution should work for any other 3rd party peripherals as well.

The only things that don’t work are the trim wheel (XOutput doesn’t recognize it) and the Status Information Panel (SIP) on the yoke, which I seldom paid attention to anyway. For the trim, I mapped a switch on the yoke like some aircraft have.

Here’s a little write up if anyone is interested. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll help as much as I can.

I am like a kid on Christmas morning. I’m actually enjoying the sim again. I’ve spent a couple of days off and on toying with the graphics settings and I think I’ve finally settled on what works best for me.

BTW, I have 600 Mbps fiber with AT&T and the most I’ve seen GFN use was 65 Mbps and it’s normally around 30 Mbps. So I’d say 100 Mbps should be plenty. My streaming latency is 9 - 11 ms. My display is an LG 4K UHD projector with a 60 Hz refresh rate.

Flying the A2A Commanche up the California coast. This video in no way does justice to what it actually looks like in 4K nor is it nearly as smooth. But you can see the stats - a solid 60 fps.

thanks for info - I’m going to go this way too as have given up with the futility of participating in betas that take the sim backwards on Xbox.

For an experiment I took my M1 Mac Mini, installed GeForce for Mac, connected mouse, keyboard and Xbox controller and I was off to the races on my OLED 65”. Worked amazingly, even shockingly well. If it had HOTAS support would be a great way to play.

See my post above re: using XOutput to map my yoke and pedals. It works! Is there a Mac counterpart to XOutput? If not, can’t you run a Windows VM on a Mac and run it and GFN in that?

Yeah I’m well loving the sim now I’m on GFN. The graphics are superb and it’s so smooth. And the mouse jiggler works, stops you dropping from the cloud

GFN is unbelievable, I’ve been using it since its early days and the progress they’ve made over the years is astonishing, the 5080 rigs are absolute beasts (47GB of VRAM is just insane). MSFS 2024 runs better than it probably would on 90% of local setups, it’s just fantastic how far cloud gaming has come.

Now I’m not sure it’s a good thing that more and more gamers are discovering the service (:face_with_hand_over_mouth:), since it’s already past capacity in some regions, but it’s obvious now that investing in this service before the hardware price hike was strategically one of the smartest moves Nvidia has ever made, it’s only a matter of time before GFN goes massively mainstream.
