I don’t want to downgrade my VRam from 11GB to 10.
Maybe Nvidia will release some „TI“ or „Super“ versions later, cheaper as the RTX 3090. 
I wouldn’t count on it. This is a classic marketing tactic, “nudging” you up to the next higher tier.

@hobanagerik This can also be the case. Maybe AMD will bring some competition with Big Navi against the RTX 3080.
A „RX 6900XT“ with 16 GB of VRam. But even if it can conquer against a RTX 3080, I don’t know if I should buy one.
I heard AMD had driver issues. I don’t know a lot of AMD products, I used all the time Intel and Nvidia.
But I’m open minded an look forward to it. 
AMD have always had driver issues, and I gave up on them years ago.

Good to hear. I am the type guy that prefers to pay a bit more, but have later no problems and I don’t want to upgrade all the time. I keep the 3090 in my eyes but will wait and look what near future brings.
Or maybe the 3080 for much better price value ratio.
3080 sold out before it ever showed in stock best I can tell. Best buy showed a few of the cards available for a second but checking out would say unavailable and remove them. Newegg site crashed, EVGA site crashed. Didn’t check anywhere else.

Same here. i was ready at 9 am at bestbuy/ newegg, but they all showed up as sold out. this is bs! Really dissappointed
After 2 attempts to go with AMD over the years…each time being plagued with driver issues and ■■■■ poor support…I gave up on them…long ago. Fool me twice kinda thing !!
Been NVIDIA ever since.
I managed to get the EVGA 3080 from Scan.co.uk here in the UK. I did try to get the Founders Edition directly from Nvidia but the button went from “Notify Me” to “Out_of_Stock” in literally two seconds.
I eventually got an EVGA card in my cart at Best Buy but it punted me after entering the shipping address. Never had another chance. So crazy.
Scan have been my vendor of choice for over 20 years. All the 3080’s are on pre-order right now, with various dates of availability, all the way into late October, for some of them.
Still waiting for the 24th, which is the 3090 day I believe?

The invoice showed it’ll be delivered tomorrow, though how accurate that is is anybody’s guess. 
Good to see Novatech continuing their tradition - cheapest listed 3080 is £800. Robbing ■■■■■■■.
I notice Videocardz.Net has shown up references to a 3080 20GB VRAM model rumoured to be coming out in November.
For those who think the 3090 might be overkill but 10GB VRAM is insufficient — This might be worth waiting for. Hopefully the pricing point fits nicely under the 3090 too.

i thinking about 3090, i’m definitely not a rich man, but i single and have nothing to put money except rig and soft, i was sure i will good with 2080ti till 2022 with 3440x1440, but now i don’t sure when i see how much load memory in crysis remastered and msfs, then far cry 6 will out and cyber punk, may be something else, life too short, lazy hedonist have no right to thinking about money, and time, just need check my wallet, as i have no idea what is going on there

Currently Intel 10th Gen with 14nm is still faster than AMD’s current CPU Ryzen 9 on 7nm with RTX 3080
And PCIe 3 vs 4 is within 1-2 %
