*can run MSFS 2020 at 4K Ultra.
A lot of cards can run MSFS2020 quite well already, especially at lower resolutions. This will improve over time as it becomes more optimized.

Plundering your wallet to fork out an insane amount of money to get 60fps in 4K?
Just wait for the New XBOX X.
(It’s much cheaper)
Will our cpu’s be able to give enough to actually make use of a gpu that powerful.
It’s also the way of programming that sometimes puts to much weight on the end user’s Hardware.
Aerofly fs 2 is the best aviation VR experience, 150FPS+, altough there’s NO life on the ground, and the Earth is not simulated like in MSFS, the devs really managed to give a very smooth flying experience, even on low spec hardware…
I’ve built 2 gaming PCs over the past 15 years. Wonderful experience, both times. But for the first time, 2 weeks ago, I ordered a PC online, from Maingear… only becuase I couldn’t find a 2080ti at MSRP. Selling for like $1800+. No thanks. Newegg stock alerts were valid for about 10 minutes. Plus I wanted a custom loop, which is out of my comfort range.
So I put together a custom config at Maingear with a 10900K and 2080ti. Fortunately, they were still waiting on my parts, so this morning I was able to put the order on hold until the 3090 arrives. Will only add about $300 to overall cost, so worth the wait. Unless of course I have to RTM several times before getting a good one
Final goal is FS2020 in VR.
The fact that they’ve managed to get a sim like that to run on a smartphone is great. I prefer Infinite Flight for its access to the world’s airports and arguably a better flight model (but I really have no idea) but Aerofly is still might impressive. I simply wouldn’t compare them to FS2020 or XP11 though especially when you take things like weather into consideration
Not only are the expected performance numbers exciting, what they’ve finally gotten right this time around is pricing. Although they always had the high-end performance crown, AMD was consistently able to offer a better “bang for the buck” because they were undercutting Nvidia on the price in that important mid-range segment.
Their 3070 price is a knockout. Slightly better performance than 2080Ti at $499? Wow. I feel bad for all the 2080Ti owners that are going to get peanuts on the resale market now, but I am super-excited about my upgrade.
3080 performance is so good now, it’s going to be hard justifying the splurge to get the 3090, but then again, the VRAM amount is ludicrous, so it may pay off for those looking to get 120fps on 4k VR headsets.
I haven’t been this excited about a video card upgrade in a long time
The fly model is not comparable because it’s to lightweight, but for VR it’s really nice…
The 3080 looks prime to me. I’m inclined to wait until Big Navi is released to see if there is a price drop, but with the prices where they are I am not sure there will be one.
I think the RTX IO feature will really help with the pop-ins in MSFS.
I feel pretty bad for anyone who just bought a 2080ti for this sim.
I barely escaped that fate today. Thankfully my 2080ti was backordered and I was able to cancel. Paid for it 2 weeks ago.
Only if you can push graphics settings. Will be great for 4K ultra but if you’re on a lower res probably not.
Going by what I saw, crunching numbers, the 3090 (Titan) should be just about ok at 60fps maybe 70fps at a reach at 1080p or ultrawide equivalent (2560 x 1080p) at maxed out settings.

Isn‘t it a problem for the Sim if it only gets 10gb VRAM with the 3080?
That’s what I’m hoping - 60fps, maxed, at 3840x1080.
I’m hoping to run at 4K, 60fps, a bit below ultra quality, with the new 3900.
You managed to find somewhere already offering pre-orders on the 3090? Or is that just a wish list for now?
I’ve had a look at Gigabyte and EVGA’s ‘Models’ but none of the local online stores in Australia seem to have anything listed for 30’ series yet.
I haven’t seen a preorder anywhere either. I bet they will in the next couple of days. Not even listed as a possible component on pcpartspicker.
My custom build at Maingear was “waiting for parts” so I was able to call today and put it on hold until they get the 3090s and appropriate waterblocks in stock. Effectively a preorder. Happy to wait.
I’m waiting for my next build to see if Intel supports PCIe 4.0 in their next gen CPU. So I am wondering if you would see some variants of these running on to the 4.0 bus speeds. I would imagine you would see another significant boost in speed.
Yeah I have to cut off “waiting to see” at some point. Otherwise I will never get another PC together! Going with 10900K this time. Sticking to it haha.
