Getting out of VR with Ctrl-Tab causes CTD (Reverb G2)

What exactly you looking for on it?

And SteamVR too… as you can see it works as now I´m with iRacing :stuck_out_tongue:

The one from SteamVR was perfect, thanks. I would suggest resetting your keyboard profile to default, if you haven’t done that already.

If you use Reverb G2, you don’t need Steam VR to run MFS2020. It runs better with WMR-native OpenXR.

I will try that, although I think I already did it…

The first set of screenshots shows an alternative keyboard profile, so just try to set it to default.

Done. All by default…
But… it was not related to that.
I can only change to VR while I’m in the main menu (even with my old layouts for Joystick and keyboard) , not if I am already in the plane… The issue now is if I am in normal screen, then Load a flight that I have prepared (As I cannot open the file explorer from VR because VR does not capture the screen…) and once the flight is loaded, then there is no way to change to VR

My suggestion too is to give it a try with WMR instead of SteamVR…the latter never really worked for me.

Otherwise I would suggest you try with a different GPU driver - which version are you using currently?

Continuing the discussion from Getting out of VR with Ctrl-Tab causes CTD (Reverb G2):

Last version from NVidia, I downloaded it while updating the sim

I can also confirm that SteamVR is not loading, it loads through WMR.
The funny thing is that I can swith while in the main menu, into VR, and back, as many times I want. …but…but…but… try this.
Stay in 2D, Load a flight (the plane will position where your flight starts…) then try to change to VR. It does not allow
Thanks @DerKlausi

Yup…I think most of us were able to switch when in the menus or during the pre-flight animations, but not anymore as soon as the flight started. If I were you, I’d do a clean deinstall & reinstall of the NV driver and both WMR and OXR. You may try if the latest NV hotfix driver (496.84) makes any difference, or if you reduce it to the driver only, skipping all the Game-Ready stuff.

I already did a clean installation of NVidia drivers, unistalles WMR, OXR and WMR dev tools this morning.
Thanks for all your feedback… but I had enough for today. Moving to iRacing. Plug&Play. I cannot understand how the hell so very basic stuff as this is always a mess after a new version is released, and why MS does not allow the option to keep 2/3 versions, so you upgrade if you want, or you skip one release …
Have a great evening, mate.

Enjoy your ride!

The cannot initialise VR, check OpenXR error can be eliminated by turning on motion reprojection.

Have you tried the procedure I posted earlier?

Just noticed they have updated OpenXR beta to 109.2111.23003 has anyone experienced any issues with this version?

I have the latest drivers for everything I can think of…still getting the CTD going from VR to 2D for flightsim. Just started to happen about the NVDIA upgrade and the latest upgrader for flightsim. Its a constant issue now…no idea what to do next after re-installing and upgrading all of the drivers…hope they fix this as I really want to fly VR.

You specify you have the “Latest” drivers for everything but can you report the specific version numbers/build numbers for each?

@WebMaxxximus, can you try with the latest OpenXR Preview runtime (109.2111.23003)?

We are not able to reproduce this issue, however, we tentatively put a workaround in the code for a related crash after PerceptionDevice.dll unloading and we think it may resolve your issue as well.

Thanks!

Sounds awesome and will give it a try, thanks!

I do not use Steam VR .

My system is…

Windows 11 - latest patches are applied, check on a daily basis
flightsim - latest patch and downloads - I check this on a daily basis and automatically upgrade when told to.
OPENXR developer version 109.2111.18007
HP reverb G2 VR - reinstalled this yesterday to ensure a fresh install and latest firmware
