Not more often than not, but very often i find myself at a point where the mission won’t proceed due to the mission step erroring out. The next step says “None”, indicating that I am not able to proceed.
Last flight this happened on was the mission for Charter Service - Private named Private Charter #DDS7613 - Fairbanks - FLIGHT CLOSING which was from PATK to PAFB. On the approach, i got asked to approach NDB A via FAI , and then it errored out. Next step said “Fly to None” and the ATC wasn’t able to cancel IFR. I ended up landing anyways following the previous procedures, and i eventually managed to trigger the ATC to send me to Ground for parking. So - in theory, i completed the mission, but when i arrived at parking, nothing happened.
This has happened so many times, it has also happened on one of those 4 hour 737 max flights, where i never got to land but after i did so anyways the mission didn’t proceed.
What is my wish?
Well it’s very simple.
Add a way for us to force the next mission step, so we can jump to a step that works.
In this same context, don’t punish us for aborting the mission, it has happened that aborting the mission gives me minus reputation, and as someone who strives to keep an S rating for that sweet sweet cash bonus, it absolutely sucks to be withdrawn points and maintenance on my plane.
The way of relying on triggers, especially when they’re AI generated, is a big misstep and it actually takes away a lot of fun when i have to restart the whole flight and I just end up sim rating my way through it. I fly most of my flights in real time, it is pretty demotivating to have to restart and re-fly it in 8x speed just because the triggers bugged out.
