Nothing… as I write above it is ferry routes and French, Brazilian, Chinese navy ships… Well, you will have the ferries Kiel -Klaipeda added, but that is once a day…
Thank you, Henrik!
Got multiple files corrupted when trying to unzip the new version, will try redownload later.
Can you see which files?
Just trying to check, but download is very, very slow…
I’ve downloaded it just fine, no errors.
Same here… download was slow, but unzipped just fine.
that one has potential for disaster… did they hit?
I think I will space those two container ships… They are not good to have sailing through the Channel with crossing traffic - and more ferries are one their way…
Thanks for returning, but I can only say strange - there was quite some run on the server this afternoon, but strange if that should impact. Anyway I am happy you managed to download.
Henrik, you and your team have given our community a truly special gift. Thank you all for your selfless and considerable efforts. I really look forward to the day wakes, spray and smoke effects make these fabulous models truly come alive. And hard decks, of course!
It would also be wonderful were it possible for some kind soul to create a document or app that would show thumbnails of all the watercraft together with their routes and times. What a resource that would be for ship hunting. I could do that all day.
So I gave it a try and it works very well, this is awesome work! But I think there is a light/textures issue.
I was flying VR between England and France, 9:30pm, it’s pitch black outside, couldn’t see anything but the moon.
But I could clearly see the boats. Not only their lights (windows, etc) but all textures very clearly.
Here is a video (you really have to watch it in the dark or you won’t see anything properly, it’s reaaaally dark
):
(video is raw without editing so you’ll see one boat at the beginning and another one near the end)
Thanks… Didier just send the package with wakes to test tomorrow
And thanks for your words; I spoke with Knud, who has spent as many hours as I converting textures. and we agreed that the positive comments are really the fuel - and has been so since I posted the first time about the project the 19th February 2012…
It is on purpose and will stay like that until we add light effects. Obviously if the night is pitch black it is a bit exaggerated. But remember this was a quick fix. First priority was to get all ships back in the sim as quick as possible after SU5 messed everything up.
Well if you guys know about it, that’s all that matters
Thanks for the quick answer.
I continue to be astonished by the amazingly high quality of these models. Some screenshots almost look like photographs…
