Good quality steam gauge airliners

Hozitgoin, being somewhat of an old timer, the garmin g whatevers don’t do much for me. Don’t know if anyone else is interested but would pay top dollar for legacy airliners specifically 747-100,200 dc10 and most importantly L1011 with good vr cockpits. There were some good ones back w the old ms flight simulators but doesn’t seem to be much out there anymore. Anybody else feel this way?

I don’t fly airliners much, but if I did I’d certainly prefer steam gauges too (I’ve always like the 727 myself). Maybe A2A will bring over their Connie someday - that would be something. I know it’s not exactly a major airliner per se, but someone (Blackstone?) is supposedly bringing the Britten-Norman Islander which I believe is primarily steam gauges.

Yea thanks I guess we’ll see

There is a Cessna 172 with steam gauges instruments on the Premium Deluxe edition. But I think everything else would be coming from third party developers. And I think there’s some smaller prop aircrafts with steam gauges in the marketplace too.

I wouldn’t expect them to be a priority though, since I would think the priority would be current generation aircrafts like A350, A380, or Boeing 737X (which a third party developer has released), and 777X series or QualityWings 787s. Until we have a good current-gen aircrafts for each class, it would think it would be some time until developers are looking into legacy retired aircrafts.

I’m the other way though… Hahaha, The more complex computers and digital screens an aircraft has, the more excited I get. Hahahah. That’s why I’m really excited for the next upcoming payware A350-900ULR from Sim4Flight.

There was a preview of a Douglas DC-3 (C-47) by Aeroplane Heaven for MSFS a while back.
What happened to that project?

Yeah absolutely! I’m not usually an airliner guy - but would definitely add these to my hangar!

Ideally some classic smaller transport aircraft (quite excited by the DC3 I must say). My favourite in a previous generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator were the absolutely superb classic British jetliners - BAC 1-11, HS Trident, Comet and the elegant VC10 - made by the very talented David Maltby. Anyone remember those?

You’d think these would appear first perhaps even if they aren’t a priority.

The more modern airliners may be held back by problems with the avionics, but things like the 727 and DC3 don’t really have them (which makes them fun to fly I reckon)

I agree with the OP. I like to fly the old fashion way not with modern computers. It’s the reason I still use FS9 with all my addons more than MSFS. I love the HJG B727-200/100 as well as the HJG DC9-30. I’d love to see a 3rd party B727, 707, or DC9 for MSFS.

Always thought the L1011 was the most underrated airliner 4 x redundant systems first autoland, impressive safety record. In fact think only two major accidents were cfit pilot errors especially when compared to the problems of it’s contemporary the dc10.
