Hey, so from what I heard, the long delay with startup is due to all kinds of checking including addons.
I think if simmers are confident meaning they haven’t changed anything, they should be able to hold down a special key when launching the sim, to skip the checking and load quickly.
Second thing, where is the log file? We need a log file and with useful info in case of a crash, or just for any useful info or warnings. For instance slow fps performance dues to xyz.

If the majority of the loading time was spent checking addons or similar items, those with no addons would be enjoying very fast loading times, but I doubt that’s the case.
But I do agree with the log file issue, mostly to troubleshoot CTDs and slow loading times.

Safe Mode was built to specifically and quickly determine if an Add-On was a potential incompatibility that cause the sim to crash previously. Bypassing integrity checking doesn’t make sense because part of that check is to determine what third party content is present and intended to be loaded for that session.
With enough big addons the game can take 20 minutes to fully load, so yes addons do make a difference.
The sim isn’t just checking the integrity of the addons, it’s also registering them for use. For instance, if you have the WT G3000 mod, skipping the file check would mean that you’d load up the TBM with the stock gauges, and you’d have no addon airports.
Go Start menu and type Reliability, you get Reliability Monitor. It is a log of (all) your crashes. You can get more detailed information, there are several topics with tips in this section.
Indeed. In more ways than one. Of course the sim needs to check what it needs to load. (Which add on aircraft you have in your hangar etc)
It also validates those items you have bought from the marketplace. (which is encrypted and DRM protected) - as some have noticed when this validation fails for reasons of whatever network/server glitch those add ons are not available to the sim and will not appear in the hangar etc.
What are these long loading times some of you speak of?
I have 120GB of mods in community folder and my main loading screen always loads in under a minute.
My pre flight loading screen loads always under 30 seconds.

My loading times have improved dramatically over the year - now takes just over 3 mins with 100+ addons. Earlier in year was taking 15 mins or so. i have a humble I7-8700k / 1080ti / 32 Ram.
I envy you. I have ~180 add-ons and startup for me takes 11 minutes.
I believe the type of add-ons that you have, are the ones having a big impact on the loading times too. E.g. having 20 airport add-ons will have quicker loading times compared to 20 large photogrammetry add-ons.
Can someone point me toward an extremely large photogrammetry freeware addon so I can see the load times increase?
Can someone clarify, if I am flying and I see someone who has a plane that is a paid plane, it’s not the same plane I’m in but it’s a plane I do own, will the plane appear for me on my end with the correct plane type?
Ie if I own a Spitfire, but I’m flying a F14, and as I’m flying I see someone flying a Spitfire, will their plane be a spitfire that I see or will it be a generic one?
