Gps approaches missing

Why are so many gps approaches missing in the initial flight setup and with the garmin 530.

AIRAC Cycle is current, the database is just not aligned in terms of Nav Data.

The short-term (and possibly long term) solution is to get a Navigraph subscription.

I’m not sure what you mean , it definitely not working. Nothing against navigragh but I want to use my ipad with foreflight so I can practice approaches. so exactly what is wrong that the gps approaches don’t show up for all airports that has a gps approach

What can I tell you? NavBlue is supposedly on the 28 Day AIRAC Cycle everyone else is on, but one of my two home fields that I operated out of IRL has both RNAV and VOR approaches. They’re in the database, Little Nav Map and other EFPs can read it in the default MSFS database, but the sim’s built in Flight Planner doesn’t recognize they exist. I can save a correct IFR plan with those approaches outside of the sim and try to load them, but if the Sim FP doesn’t recognize them as valid, they get discarded.

Your call.

I would like to bump this topic, some approaches to some airports are simply missing. It’s not an extreme or fringe case; small airports all over Canada with published RNAV approaches IRL simply don’t have them in the sim. And they’re not bizarre approaches either; these are simple RNAV one-waypoint-to-the-next approaches with no special requirements.

Marathon (CYSP) only has two RNAV approaches, for example, and has had them for years. Here’s one of them:

And here’s the same airport in the sim, note that there are no approaches available:

I mean, sure we can always get a Navigraph subscription, but I understand that the intent is that we should be able to use the Navdata in the sim for everything we could ever need for free, and then Charts+ would be a pay-for service once it comes out. I can’t imagine Asobo and Navblue had agreed “ok we’ll only include half of the world’s approaches in the nav data, and the rest, well…meh”

I have the realsimgear 750 650 540 and 500 autopilot. with such a new flight sim with cutting edge technology you would think they would have got this right, they want to be a flight sim and not arcade and they are close but fell short in many places. Stop adding airports and fix the navigation. I want to use my realsimgear not some third party software. I have foreflight on my ipad but thats hard in vr and the gps units should work, are they still in beta or building an arcade game now.
Disappointing the direction of their priorities. X-plane is dying so offer him a million to buy him out and use his navagation software plus his controllers in vr

I find many RNAV approaches in rural Australia are not included in the default data either. Most way points I’ve needed, which are in real RNAV approaches, are present and can be entered manually into the GPS. Not exactly what I’d like but it usually works, although a bit slow to set up and could be improved.

Hogan8529, you can’t use RNAV glidepath/slope if it isn’t an activated existing approach though can you? I’ve done the same as you and found the waypoints exist but the approaches don’t.

I don’t understand this. I can’t afford navigraph. Why are Asobo saying they’ve updated to AIRAC in the latest world update, but it’s missing a LOT of approaches. In littlenavmap compare the old 1801 AIRAC navigraph data with the supposed 2106 AIRAC in MSFS for places like KASE etc. Up to half the approaches aren’t there.
