GPU low load

Guys, please help me solve the issue, the problem is that the game does not fully use the resources of the video card. For example, in London 25fps while the video card is loaded at 65-80%, the processor at 45-60%. Changing the graphics settings in the game from ultra to low gives an increase of 5-7 fps, and in the game menu the video card is stably used by 95-98%. In the settings of the control panel, nvidia set the high performance config as follows: i7 8700, gtx 1070ti, 16gb ram. The game is installed on ssd. I can upload videos of my problem. I look forward to your comments on this issue. thank

Your CPU is the bottleneck, yes it reports 45-60%, but one of those threads is probably sitting at 80-90% causing the bottleneck. If you enable devtools and show FPS it will tell you limited by main thread.

What can you do about it? Pretty much nothing, its CPU hungry, there are a few tweaks here n there but nothing that will make your day im afraid.

It is, but my 8700K is sitting at 30% while my 1080ti is screaming at 99%, so maybe something is off…

I’ve seen post saying that the pagefile settings might affect the performance, the 16GB RAM is the issue, etc, etc.

This is what I read somewhere else that worked and pushed the GPU to 100% utilization.
In Windows (2004 build) type “Graphics Settings”
(near bottom) Graphic Performance Preference under Choose an app to set preference

For purchased through Microsoft store, from dropdown:
Choose “Microsoft Store” add Microsoft Flight Sim
Options> select High Performance

I think you can do the same thing for Steam version, choose “Desktop App” and find Microsoft Flight Sim.

If you run into CPU limited, you can try to lower the ingame graphic settings that affect CPU load.
These are the two LOD sliders mainly, and Texture Synthesis.

I am having smilar problem.
The weird thing is, my gpu worls at 80% on main menu but 30-40% in cockpit. 60-70% on outside view…

Means you’re CPU (main thread) limited. Reduce settings the mostly affect the CPU, like glass panel refresh rates.

but I had more fps with my old gtx1070. now i have rtx3070 so i guess at least i should get same fps at least?

Should be at least the same yes, unless some settings (or the resolution) were changed (either by you or automatically by NVidia in the drivers).

No I didin’t change anything. this is so dissappointing

When installing the new drivers, did you turn on max performance mode for the new card? (sounds silly but worth an ask) — what is your CPU?

Where should I turn on this setting from?
My cpu is 9400f

Its in the Nvidia control panel under global 3d settings, there is a power mode option, make sure its set to preferrer maximum performance.

Other questions, what res are you playing at? As that 9400f CPU is very much going to hinder the performance of any 30 series card unless you are trying to push 1440p+

1080p for now. I may consider buying 1440p monitor and 9700 cpu if this sim becomes stable. for now no need.
I will look for this setting and give it a try thanks

a 3070 is insanely overkill for 1080p, you can crank up the graphics settings sure, but your CPU is going to be the limiting factor here, its only an i5, and a low clocked one at that :(.
