Almost every new version of msfs has been so hardware demanding that if you wanted to use the maximum visual effects, you needed hardware from the upper shelf. The same goes for msfs2021, if you buy a brand new Rtx 3080ti forinstance it would in my opinion be a shame to match the card up with 5 year old processor. For many years i went with the equipment i had, upgraded a bit with second hand equipment and made do. However as im nearing retirement i choose to go for the best possible as this may be the last pc i build. In short you and your economy decide what to do. And yes we are chasing pixels.
