In my opinion I would go no lower than a GPU with 8GB of VRAM for 1080p gaming these days. My PCs have GPUs with 16GB and 24GB of VRAM and with the 16GB one I’m sometimes very close to maxing out VRAM (and I’m only playing at 1440p).
