I believe my scenery looked very clear when MSFS was first introduced. Something has changed. I’ve gone to the Graphics settings and everything checked there is ULTRA or the highest settings. My computer can handle it.
But over the last week or so, I notice a “grainy” appearance to my scenery. It’s like a mini-flickering all over. Nothing is crystal clear as I remember.
Are there specific things in settings that I should really pay attention to? I could have changed something over the last month that has affected this, but I am not sure.
I have a high end Jetline computer with all the goodies, and a 4K LG IPS HDR monitor that usually makes everything look quite clear.
The scenery isn’t blurry…just really “grainy” if you know what I mean.

It helps to fly another flight sim (for example DCS) to realize how bad the image clarity in MSFS actually is. The only thing that MSFS gets right is the colors , and the image looks right if you go far enough from the screen. But you cannot recognize details among the pixel pulp. I suspect it’s a result of the new shaders and a philosophy that has the XBox in mind.
Reducing Render Scaling to 100…not 200 where I had it, improved the clarity immensely. I also went into the Usercfg.opt and made the sharpen line a 0 instead of a 1.
I am much happier with these adjustments. Significantly improved.
Just curious if you’re running a 1080p display
3840x2160 resolution on LG 4K 27" IPS monitor.
