Low utilization can cause the clocks to not boost as high. Temps can also limit the clock.
I would check utilization first. If its 80ish percent or less, it probably wont boost all the way up to 1800.
If utilization is high but the clock is still dropping then its almost definitely reducing the clocks to keep the temps in check. The higher it gets above 80c or so it will start reducing the boost clocks more and more. If this is the case, you could try increasing the fan curve to give you some extra MHz under load at the expense of noise.
My card is running @ 2150 Mhz during flight
and 1720 Mhz during loading. The card is a RTX 3080.The only possibility for a change could be
a different driver. The newest isn’t always the best.
Interesting that your usage is flipped. Wonder if it has to do with power settings of the gpu. Unfortunately mine are locked and can’t find a way to increase power.
What you need to do is enable dev mode, look at the counters, and determine what’s holding you back. I’m guessing you’re heavily main thread limited, meaning your GPU is basically doing next to nothing. And typically, that’s often due to terrain LOD settings being too high for what a system can handle.
You were right. Card was 100% utilized but doing “nothing” because settings were too high. Lowered settings across the board and set screen resolution just right and now getting utilization at 1700Mhz without any over clocking. Thank you.
