OK. Good or bad I’ve got this computer. I’ve been trying to set the graphics settings for a good experience given my specs ( Ryzen 7 8845HS, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070, 8GB VRAM, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD and internet speed for now (10Mps). I still can’t figure out what is affected by internet speed and what is affected by computer specs. Any suggestions on a setup? Don’t know much about FPS yet either. I’m pretty happy with the way it looks now but I believe the details on the Bing maps could be better. I just don’t know. If there’s a way to show my current settings let me know and I will if this will help.
Yesterday I went through this vid following the instructions EXACTLY and holy ■■■■ I’m getting the best performance ever. The ridiculously counterintuitive thing revealed by the dev mode FPS display is that my GPU (a 3080) was outpacing my CPU (i7-9700k) and that this was causing all of the microstuttering I was getting. I’m now actually using render scaling 1.3 to throw enough at my GPU to get it to match my CPU latency, and it’s the smoothest performance I’ve ever seen with lots of minor graphics settings maxed out.
I will definitely watch it. I need a lot of guidance.
