If you haven’t seen it yet, check out Instructor Station for FS2020, Prepar3D, FSX, FSW and X-Plane - FS-FlightControl It has a free 14 day trial. And if you’re an instructor, it is indispensable.
My favorite is the Random Position feature. I have it set up to drop me on a 1-mile final anywhere in the world. You can discover some really amazing places! Sometimes, the location is at night, so simply unpause, and slide the TOD to daytime.
As Microsoft Flight Simulator allow to start a flight from anywhere clicking on the world map I won’t renew FS-FlightControl (there are annual fee even if not clearly stated when you buy the product)…
Have a look at Plan-G.
It‘s an amazing flight planning and following tool for FSX, P3D and the MSFS while the latter is still in alpha but greatly usable. You‘ll need to register for the forum to download it.
It’s completely freeware and lets you choose random origins and destinations within user-defined limits and possibly even can set you on approach, I am not sure. It works a treat
