Great news:DLSS will work in VR

As just confirmed by Devs Q&A DLSS is going to work for VR too and will fix shimmering issues.

What else did they say about VR?

Not much. Talked about the shimmering a bit.

It was pretty dissapointing that Jörg said last time this Q&A would be focused on VR, and it was just random Q&A with one VR question…

Well that’s shameful it really is, to big it up and say he was gonna talk more about VR then ignore it…says it all about their commitment towards VR #RollEyes

Great news. Now we just have to wait until 2025 until they actually implement it.

The lack of VR discussion is very discouraging , during the Developer Q&A: January 26th, 2022, after Martial Bossard did not provide an list of coming SU8 fixes from the VR Strike Team, Jorg Neumann stated (1:29:32) they would provide an VR specific update this month. There was no VR Specific discussion just a comment on about DLSS during this months Q&A.
As DLSS is a Nvidia only enhancement, where is the improvement going to come from for xbox users and AMD users ?
We are currently relying on the skills of 3rd party dev’s to keep VR performance moving in the right direction.
Asobo really should acknowledge the fantastic work these 3rd party dev are doing.

I wonder if DLSS would make it worth jumping from a GTX 1070 to an RTX xx60 based card?

Biggest fix to VR I’d like to see is the strobe light effect when ending a flight. It always wrecks a nice flight experience at the end.

The only reason VR came up at all was actually because I asked a question about shimmering in VR and it got upvoted enough for them to read it… So had I not started that thread, there would have been no mention of VR AT ALL lol…

Anyway, anyone know when they are aiming to release the DLSS support?

When they initially announced DLSS support a few weeks ago, they mentioned it would be some time this year, and only supported for DX12. This seems to imply an effort to get DX12 fully on board as well.

I believe it was slated for SU10 this summer (that would be expected late june/early july) if no road blocks
