They don’t listen. I was an alpha tester and look what we got for a sim. I’m getting disappointed more and more every day and I too am getting CTDs after the new update.
Because they released a simulator that requires me to rely on the addons to make it playable at a decent level.

As we always recommend before an update:
- Some packages in your community folder may not have been updated and, as a result, may have an unexpected impact on the title’s performance and behavior. Please move your community package(s) to another folder before updating.
Your add-ons/mods/liveries were compatible with the previous version of MSFS (1.14.6.0), some of them are still compatible with the latest version of MSFS (1.15.7.0), but for the add-ons/mods that are currently not compatible, you need to update them or wait for an update that will make them compatible.

if thats the answer then I will wait for a new version of MSFS that ALLOWS the add-ons to be compatible…

No, you need to make sure you don’t break previous functionality when you release a new SDK. Imagine if MS .NET team broke previous versions everytime they released an update, there would be uproar. But it seems OK to do that to the flight sim community…
It’s just sloppy coding - like your CTD error handling.

Well, it’s not unheard of to have known bugs that are not addressed until after a release (perhaps the fix was complicated and there were strict deadlines). But at the very least these should be flagged as Known Issues in the changelog so that customers may be kept up to date and they’ll surely appreciate the effort.
Some beta testers claim that the bug was reported but was largely ignored, so if that’s true then that’s borderline criminal negligence because there are people who are heavily dependent on standalone WASM stuff like AAO, SPAD.next etc and have super-expensive equipment that relies on these apps. These people simply can not use MSFS at the moment.
Also it begs the question how many of these 300 beta testers actually tested stuff like WASMs, because it’s not all eye-candy and fluffy clouds and trees LODs.
ps: obviously if this was the first time that a major bug made its way into a major release, people would be more understanding. But we’re several months after the initial launch date and we’re seeing the same QA issues reoccurring again and again after each update.

In the release notes there is nothing that could make one conclude that.
And if it is , then the release notes are wrong too. Inexact, at least. Where is the “secret”.
1.4 Gb new “loader” ? … say “kernel” ?

How this is acceptable I don’t get, people’s jobs depend on some of these wasm modules for payware plugin developers. Almost as if Asobo should check their updates work, before pushing something that breaks many plugins, without even telling us how to fix this.
There have been too many hotfixes now - just please, test your game and listen to the community instead of disrespecting them.
Back to x-plane for me.

Just because something was done a certain way in the past doesn’t make it okay. Why do I keep hearing such archaic arguments, I will never understand.
It is not done that way because that was the way it was done in the past but because that is what the hobby demands. A flight sim is NOT a stand alone game, it is a platform designed to be added to by those with the expertise to provide the quality add ons. Not only does that make it “okay”, it makes it required to fulfill the expectations of the flight sim community.
My question would be, why do I keep hearing people clamoring for a complete sim right out of the box. Who would bother creating new content?
I will never understand where this expectation comes from when MS/Asobo stated from day one that this was a ten year project.
For starters, no one is expecting a complete Sim right out the box. There is always an expectation to get addition higher quality payware content.
The expectation is however that you get what you paid for, I paid for the top spec version in order to get a working 787. It had to be the worst aircraft in the Sim and I paid extra to have it.
Their much touted A320 and 747 are abysmal without help from FBW or Heavy. Where did my expectations of working high quality aircraft included in the package I paid for come from? It came from them and their endless marketing material.
They’ve said it themselves, they made inferior aircraft to as to not step on the 3rd party devs shoes, yet, their updates break these products all the time and they have not yet fixed their own.
As for the 10 year commitment everyone keeps bringing up. It was 10 years of growth and support, not 10 years to get it to the level it was promised to be at launch.

False. The platform changes and third party developers must adjust.
Without this “contract”, evolution of the base sim would be seriously impeded and, ultimately, halted.
Having said that, the release process could probably be better.
Ideally, it would enable third part developers to adjust and test their products ahead of time and have the new versions installed automatically as part of the general update process.

I am just a “Stock” user appart from some personal apps I develop wich are perfectly under my control and never present on times of “update”
After 2nd resume of update ,… I am locked out.
How so ?
The software will not load again.
Period.
Yes this update 1.15.7.0 88GIB is taking for ever even at 35mb/sec. I wish I was given the option whether I wanted to accept the download at this moment or be able to put a time to update, as per Windows10. This is my PC and my software. Find it annoying to want to do a flight and can’t as it’s updating. I could then put the update before I went to bed.
Again and again CTD without any reason…
It was working good 2h ago, i go to lunch, i go back, nothing new in community folder or anywhere, so wtf ?? no explaination, just ctd, seriously this FS is the most frustrating experience i ever met …
