Because of this issue which I am confident is server related, I am also not getting the seasons. The data provided to some of us is very limited at this point.
I think this is a texture LOD issue. When you go closer to the ground the texture loads higher def. The sims aggressively lower texture resolution.
Looks like ■■■■… There is the best and the worst so far in FS2024…
This appears to be something they do with grass and small plants in sim. Up close it is quite detailed. At low altitude it starts to look like felt.
I’d be happy with that…
Yeah I definitely am seeing this too. It gets worse as you climb.
Here’s departing CYRT climbing through about 10 000 on 2020, vs 2024
I can’t tell from here if the textures actually better but the result in 2020 just appears much sharper
It’s really shocking to me that they didn’t release a quick fix for the blurry textures, bad photogrammetry, and bad LOD settings over the weekend. The visuals are horrible. It’s incomprehensible to me.
So whats the fix? Some have good high altitude ground textures and some dont? What is the setting that fixes this?
But if I use this setting my screens get blurry, how does this get me better performance? 4090
It’s not just a high altitiude issue. I have done several tests with both 2020 and 2024 and at max settings, the textures in '24 are at a lower resolution. I would estimate they are at half resolution which I suspect is a temporary measure until server loads go down.
Hopefully this will be fixed and we can go back to super sharp textures when flying GA at low altitude.
I keep seeing these kind of suggestions but, unless I’m wrong - wasn’t 2020 also streaming ground textures/bing imagery? I didn’t think that was new in 24, it was the rest like streaming the airplanes too and offloading the world updates etc
As long as Bing Data was enabled it should have been streaming it in 2020, otherwise it would use the offline data.
I guess what I mean is I don’t think it should be a server load issue because they’ve been doing this for years without problem
Every flight in the last 14 days has had spotty, blurry textures. Poor quality photogrammetry. It’s clear that the servers are not performing properly, the LOD setting is wrong. I don’t understand the developer why he doesn’t log a bug ticket?
Not sure why it is not “bug logged” yes. Maybe it is not a bug and they know it as it may be done on purpose for now ?

- I select a minor airport (LIPU) and launch free flight
- At the runway I already see poor level of textures
- Also during flight the quality of texture of terrain is poor

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• I’m seeing the exact same kind of low poly models as OP has, except on Xbox Series X. Crazy since this is the same platform that COD, Cyberpunk 2077, and other games can run at 4k raytracing with way more detail.
• It looks like that the root cause of the problem is pop in - the distance needed to load certain models is crazy low, with models only being (somewhat) recognizable when the camera is very close to it. In most cases (like OP and in the below screenshots/video) these models are in the background and would rarely if ever be close.
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

I have the same issue. I hope Microsoft sees your post and fixes it
Graphical issues still occur after the patch yesterday (I know it was mainly server-related patches, but was hoping it would at least improve streaming assets and thus would help with this.) Captured some more pop-in in the same training airport:
