Awesome! You certainly know more about this than me, but it seems the core sim should just having a built in keybind to just keep a plane on water still like a parking brake. I mean it’d be a breech of realism sure but like you can control the pace of time and slew the plane up already lol.
Just a nit pick though really, great work absolutely love the Albatross. Probably my favorite ‘24 plane(only has a probably because I really like the Norden too)
@QueazyTable959 @CharlieFox00 I believe there were some requests for anchorage?
Quick preview shots of my custom solution below. The anchor buoy tracks the waves and moves with them, up to about 25 knots of wind anyway, where it starts to disconnect a bit. At that point though you have bigger problems to deal with than a slightly glitchy buoy, hehe. The rope tracks both ends nicely, regardless of the plane’s pitching and rolling.
It’s functional as well. The anchor will keep the plane in place but still let it weathervane into the wind.
I’m working on the deployment aspects now, with clickspots in the nose compartment etc, and may add a quick button for it to the clipboard as well.
Cheers.

I hope they can consider pushing the updates to us regardless of the Marketplace’s open/closed status.
At the very least we have something to look forward to when they finally push them to us.
Great implementation of the anchor!

Fishing on a lawn chair set up on top of your camper converted Grumman Albatross at anchor with a cooler of beers sounds like the dream.

Can’t wait to try this aircraft once it shows up on the Market Place! I want to try a world tour with it, following the same route as the N44RD (first Albatross to circumnavigate the world as a support aircraft for the re-creation of Amelia Earhart’s expedition). I might also try to do a world tour with only water landings for a change.
Would be interesting one day to have other types of interior liveries as well; something with a camper van feeling maybe. N44RD for example had a microwave, refrigerator and a shower-equipped bathroom!

Scouting for beaching. Water rwy 11. Near TREASURE Lagoon FL .
Pretty dang good graphics.
Now to back up and set up for TO Water rwy 11
It backed right out! Reverse worked quite well.
Off I go !

I am a bit late to the party but I have to say what a great aircraft. Had an amazing flight yesterday in Hawaii.
Sad to see that it has been weeks the update has been pushed to Asobo and…

Is it that unreasonable to expect the teams responsible for evaluation, approving and pushing aircraft updates out to the sim community have some time off for traditional end of the year holidays? This is the first business day back in the office for a lot of people worldwide (me included, in fact).

@Apollon0011 Thank you very much for the kind words, I’m happy you’re enjoying the plane!
Some items from the “wish list” will be making it into this next big update, but doing major panel surgery or adding interior variations is not in the cards right now unfortunately, sorry. Those are very time consuming undertakings, and a number of other things need improving first.
However, I think (hope) most here will be quite happy with what’s coming. I have asked MS to skip testing the initial patch from December at this point, as I will be submitting the big one this week, with a ton of fixes and refinements.
Cheers!

A question about engine cowl flaps and oil cooler flaps operations: how to tell how much the flaps are opened or closed?
I can operate the switches but can’t see any indication
You can look outside and see the cowl flaps position on the engine. Not sure about the oil cooler question.

@Apollon0011 @system0default Yup, the easiest way to check their positions is with mark 1 eyeballs. You can see both sets of flaps from the cockpit side windows if you move your view a little bit.
There are no gauges in the cockpit to show their positions, but if you turn on tool tips and then mouse over their switches, they will show you a percentage of how open they are.

I have posted a YouTube video of two of my favourites: the Albatross flying between some lakes in southern British Columbia in Canada. The video is more focused on the natural beauty of the area and the aircraft than the technicalities of flying.
The video can be seen here:

My #1 favorite in the sim right now! Thank you very much for this amazing airplane!
Any news on this big upcoming update? I am mostly looking forward to the AP improvements that have been highlighted in previous posts.
Thanks again!!

@vShannon2563 Thank you, that’s lovely to hear.
The update is in testing now. There has been some back and forth with a few small bugs, but it’s looking good. I can’t give a release date unfortunately as that’s not up to me, but it’s in the pipe at least.
Cheers.
