I meant to include this with my previous reply, but I did confirm that’s how I have my throttle axes configured:
NOTE: I did create a custom profile for the Albatross here (shown under the “Airplanes” section at bottom-left.

I just flew the Albatross from Rivers Inlet Seaplane Base (CAU8) to Ocean Falls Seaplane Base (CAH2). Before landing I decided to add in a rather brisk 25 - 30kt brisk! - wind for landing. After landing I was really impressed with how the aircraft’s behaviour on rough water has been modelled. I decided to record a short bit of it to demonstrate: decide for yourself. And obviously best in 4K!
And BTW: please don’t ask about the landing! I am still getting used to the aircraft so I allowed the speed to drop enough to basically run out of elevator authority and flop down the last few feet!
OK here is what I did to map the reverse. This is for those that have a HC Bravo throttle.
So basically, past the detent on the throttle is a button after passing the axis.
The only downside is it goes to max reverse but I am fine with that.
Any chance this will be sold separately one day? Spent many hours in Mike’s other Albatross a few years ago so keen to get this one day…
I use Thrustmasters Hotas Warthog Throttle and in FSUIPC I configured the third lever to control reverse thrust (the TM Hotas does not have an axis going into revers on the two main levers).
Yes, it will be. When the Marketplace opens.
I would rather say that “Albie” found you
Nice shots. Welcome to the club.
Great pictures!
Either way, the end outcome is good!
Thanks kindly. Looks better at 4K resolution: wish the forum would allow that.
This historical training film would have something to say about that sea state!
(Also, here’s part 1 of that film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYs9do-ZJHg )
Does anyone know if the Albatross will be available in career mode?
I should have learned from that before my “landing”! This is what my landing roll looked like, and I can assure you it was every bit as rough as this looks!
Having a weird issue with the Prop RPM switches resetting to 0% whenever there’s any keyboard input. Is anyone else having this issue? It’ll help me troubleshoot.
If either limit is not reached how can one judge if both left and right are at the same value? This is my concern with it so I use hardware levers as in any other aircraft.
RPM gauge?
I’m not sure I understand your question? I made a 4+ hour flight last weekend without that being any kind of concern. I have two buttons on my hardware throttle that I have bound to Propeller Increase and Decrease. In the aircraft I simply set my desired power level, then click the Prop Increase or Decrease buttons to set the RPM I want for the engines.
I understand this. But RPM left and right may differ by a small amount that cannot be seen on the gauges, or am I completely wrong here?
The RPM gauge has a split-indicator with two needles. If one engine is running slower or faster than the other, you will be able to tell.
