I’m just going by Google Maps. I don’t actually know. Google maps says that it is the Nanaimo river. It labels a river further north west of where the Nanaimo river enters the Straight of Georgia as the Chase river.
Kalgoorlie?
Edit: I can’t spell…
How did you guess that? Did you research it, or did you just know?
We don’t know yet, until Parorng wakes up ![]()
I had a look at it on Google Earth; it looks very likely to be correct.
Yup @littleTiFlo got it!
YPKG Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
I used to live in this town, operating from here north-east to places like Warburton and further into the middle of nowhere!
I’m up! I’m up! ![]()
Welcome back!! ![]()
Is that also known as Boulder something?
Quite a unique place to live isn’t it! No wonder you like flying though haha
Congrats!

Your turn to post a scene! ![]()
I just knew this was Aussie territory! I was gonna guess the Matilda Gold mine but when I looked at it, that just wasn’t it.
Giant man-made pit surrounded by red dirt, my mind first went to Western Australia; and I remembered Kalgoorlie from checking it out when WU7 came out
@Parorng that must be quite the place to live in!
Awright, where do we go next?
Yeah Kalgoorlie/Boulder is basically one place, but it’s actually two towns that grew into each other. I was actually living in Boulder rather than Kal itself (in that part behind the tail near the airport), but we’d take the 5 minute drive to go to the shops etc up there.
8 hours drive to Perth, 4 hours drive south to Esperance. They pump water into the town from Perth, 700km away! The mayor who organised that all staked everything on the water coming through, and when it didn’t he topped himself unfortunately. The water arrived the following day! So the lesson is, if things look impossible, always try to keep your chin up, you never know what fortune is going to come next.
Wow, sounds like a good plot for a movie there. The Boulder Redemption.
(that is what I was going to guess when you first posted btw
I’m so smart!)
Thanks for posting. Let’s start narrowing this down… somewhere along the Amazon river? So we’re in South America?
North America
…I’m out ![]()
Astoria, Oregon?
I am going to guess the bridge between Newport and James Town, Rhode Island? (It doesn’t look quite right from my memory, but it’s been a bunch of years since I was there.)
Ok we got both the coasts covered East and West. I was gonna say somewhere on the Mississippi?
Went here today. Awesome landscape and that Observatory at the top of the mountain is one of the best modelled POI’s I’ve seen!
