Wahey! It’s not easy to win one around here.

I seem to be having issues with sticking to the rules of this game, so this one is Guess When? Date required.

This probably is Sydney airport
So I would guess the date is April 12th, 1989 when British Airways Concorde G-BOAF lost part of its rudder on a flight from Christchurch and landed without incident, with the crew only noticing the damage after landing? From historical weather data it should fit as well. Just couldn’t find a record which runway was used.

You’re nearly there but wrong date. Rudder was intact but something else was broken on this trip.

I’m afraid I’m out. I don’t have access to a complete failure history of all Concorde aircraft. The only notable failures I found were the issues with rudders and elevons as well as defective outer windows. But none of those incidents seem to have occured anywhere near or on the way to Sydney.

Something was broken but no part of the aircraft failed. The flight was very successful. :bottle_with_popping_cork:

Is this the incident you’re thinking of?

Yes, Exactly

I have to admit I thought this one was really easy and would be found within a few hours. @Archer374 was very close. Some nearly unfathomable images seem to present no trouble!

I’m not sure I can give much more of a clue without stating the answer, but the application of Google with two obvious words gets the result. Concorde flew to Sydney very few times. Not the 1972 trip.

Was it on February 14, 1985? When it broke the speed record?

Yes that is the one I was after. Your turn!

This was only possible thanks to Archer’s groundwork.

You are right… where the trees have taken back the place ; no more roads, ghost city from a story that everybody knows.

And there was me thinking the city in the picture had just been overrun by trees in the sim, like most of the other cities in the sim, and not actually IRL!
