Gusts per minute

Can someone please explain to me how the “gusts per minute” graph is supposed to work? Currently I have it set to 4 gusts per minute, but the graph is showing wildly different data.

Am I reading it wrong? Please someone let me know how to interpret this and how it helps. Thanks!

I second this post. It makes no sense.

Also, why does the gust plot always go from 0? If it is 20 gusting 30, I don’t expect lulls of 0 knots. Shouldn’t the gusts be superimposed on the steady wind?

I wonder if anyone actually tested this or gave it much thought when they developed it? You’d think that it’d only take a handful of lines of code to fix but yet it has been like this since forever?

You know the answer to that. Like many other obvious things that persist. LoL

I just want to know if this is correct or if this is a bug. Has the devs mentioned it anywhere?

I think it is one of those bugs that would be easy to fix but that nobody cares enough about to actually do anything about it. There’re a few of those…
