There should be a checkbox to keep gusts in sync with wind direction. By default, that box should be checked. That way, one doesn’t normally have to change both directions to the same thing.
I’d have to double check whether I was on live weather or not, but that might account for the sometimes unstable take off rolls I’ve had. I’m rolling along nicely, rudder in to compensate for crosswind, and as I am about to rotate suddenly the plane lurches off to the other side, as if something slapped the tail hard!
