We don’t even know what current bugs are going to make it/be patched in the first Sim Update or even what date the first Sim Update is…
To quote Tom Petty (may he Rest In Peace)
“The waiting is the hardest part
Every day you see one more card
You take it on faith, you take it to the heart
The waiting is the hardest part”
lol yea I wish some addons were compatible like pmdg 777. However since msfs24 comes with several airliners I can wait
Yes you don’t understand all the hate because it’s half way usable for you it seems. Now imagine if the cockpit interaction was not there. Keyboard or mouse. If a display is not turned on you can not turn it on.
I see a few others with my issue but no fixes for me. So just be happy it works for you and understand how frustrating it is for those that have paid money like you have and have an unusable product and you would be not happy as others are.
in game ATC is still pretty bad fortunately Batc and SayIntentions work really well just cost more $$ many of the planes have bugs in the avionics/internal systems. but other than that almost every aspect seems better to me. yes career mode is a steaming pile of ■■■■ but there are other career mods available that combined with a decent ATC of course for more $$
While I haven’t yet bought fs24, it’s because of the launch week problems, the reported bugs, add-ons not working, broken aircraft, and the fact I do not want to pay full price to be an alpha participant. The optics of the new sim haven’t been good and so therefore I’ve avoided it for now and the foreseeable future. Some people still have this perception it’s half baked and I’m one of them.
I personally only care about free flight and my high fidelity aircraft and airports working. And vatsim. I could care less about missions or career mode
I applaud you and wish more people acted likewise. Preordering sight unseen is partially responsible for how they get away with releasing such an unfinished product, IMHO. If more folks waited to see if it was actually worth purchasing first, there’d be more pressure upon the devs and pubisher to polish it up more first.
It would really be interesting to know how much sales would have declined had we known the true condition 2024 was in before anyone purchased it. My guess would be at least 40%.
That all said, if free flight is your thing, as it is mine, 2024 is worth giving a shot now. Of course, this also depends upon your preference in aircraft. I like small, GA planes. The 172 classic and M20R are my most flown, although I’m developing a taste for the Vision Jet too.
The only airliner I fly regularly is the PMDG 737 which is not yet available in 2024. I tried the 737 Max but it was a poor substitute. How much of this is due to the plane itself vs the sim I can’t be sure, but I’ve seen reports that airliners overall don’t perform as well as GA aircraft in 2024.
I hope so. I started playing this year and I’m having fun but there is lots of problems. Textures looking terrible, not able to flying certain planes without game crashing, some airports crashing my game, and lack spikes. Aside from that this is a great game it just needs more work
