Hardware settings unusable - creates a new preset with each change

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
When trying to change any slider in the “hardware settings” dialog, with each mouseclick on the slider, a “duplicate proflie” dialog pops up. If saved, you end up with may profiles all named “my new general profile”. Managing / deleting these without deleting your original profile is nearly impossible.

Moreover, when switching between different control presets, the number behind the preset category seems to be counted up - at least, it increases with every switch.

Exactly same behavior as OP. Cannot duplicate and after renaming I never can get to the new preset I created. I am unable to set a profile for just “side stick” aircraft." Somehow I now have 108 presets?

• yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Xbox x - cannot create or duplicate profiles and cannot change any controller / slider sensitivities without a prompt to create a new profile which never saves anyway. As such, I have no control over the sensitivity of my controllers.

The latest .4 beta has caused problems over the last 2x days. Cannot change device / controller sensitivities (just moving the sliders causes problems) without being asked repeatedly to create a new profile and generating dozens of new profiles. Also, key binding changes do not save to profiles, which means I’m having to reset and update in each and every new flight. .3 was great.

This morning, my Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo profiles were ok, yet this evening, the Honeycomb profiles under the Controls tab were all set to “undefined” and I had to recreate the profiles. (Nothing in Community folder and under 1.4.20.0 no SU3beta) I do not believe it is unreasonable to expect an update to not make more problems than it solves.

But hey, at least the ear twitch on the deer on the loading screen appears smoother…

Same issue here,

…and it requires re-calibration each time a new flight is created.

• Yes.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• New profile generated for every control change (sensitivity or otherwise).
Repeated controller switching (i.e. keyboard to flight stick) in the menu appears to create more profiles.

Seeing the same here with several devices showing over a hundred presets when they should have, at most, 10-15. This may be part of the root cause of the overall slowdown in the controls menu.

The confusion is due to the Controls UI displaying the “Create new Preset” screen when you modify a Preset.

I don’t know what the logic is.

If I am adding/deleting/changing a control and the “create new” screen displays, I just backspace the name and enter the Preset name I am modifying.

A new Preset is not created.

I don’t think there’s any confusion - the parenthetical value after the preset type is increasing when virtually nothing is being done. I don’t even see the “create new” display, but the value balloons anyway.

This topic is concerning “Create new Preset”.

Yes, the bug I believe I’m observing is that new presets are being created without any action or intention by the user. Simply changing devices, exiting the menu and re-entering, or changing presets is creating a new preset without any prompt to do so.
