As the topic says - It always seems to work reasonably well on the first flight after loading the sim. That’s pretty well known. All subsequent flights, regardless where I set Live Weather (be it in the world map before or during a flight using weather settings), I always get clear skies, 29.92, with wind 225/3. Regardless of Asobo claiming they fixed this, we all know better.
Has anyone found a reliable workaround other than shutting down the game and restarting it? It takes SOOOO long for it to load I’d rather not do that.
And I mean without 3rd party stuff. The game is far too unstable as it is to start injecting stuff into it from 3rd parties.
I am now trying this without 3rd party stuff. Live players on, live traffic on, C172.
Loaded flight at LFPG, live weather worked, raining. Quit to Main menu.
Loaded the same flight again, live weather worked, raining. Quit to main menu.
Loaded flight at KJFK, live weather worked, cloudy. Quit to main menu.
Loaded flight at YSSY, live weather worked, clear but 30.20 Hg pressure.
Personally i can’t get it to break, after patch 2 i haven’t seen it happen. So if you still experience this problem please report the settings you are using so we can figure out where it goes wrong for you.
Seems like you’re one of the lucky few. I’m in the same camp as others. First flight, live weather works. Only way to get it to work on other flights is to shut down the sim and start it back up.
Live players or not. AI or not, choose it from the world map or in game (when not in full live mode), and I’ve still not managed to get Live Weather to work. That’s since launch day.
Yes. After every flight, select the Live Weather BEFORE selecting any airports. If I set the airport first, it’s always 270/4 for me. But if I set Live Weather before airports, it works every time. If you made a mistake and selected the airport first, just hit reset on the flight planner page so it gets rid of airport selected and start by selecting Live Weather first. I have to select it before every flight as the game doesn’t remember to use Live Weather. It always defaults to preset. Hope this helps.
I didn’t set anything, it’s live by default for me. So to check it i just changed it to custom, then selected another airport and then changed it to live, and the live weather still worked. I’m on West Europe server, don’t know if it matters which server you’re on.
See? That’s weird. I am on NA East, I believe. I have to select Live Weather before every flight. Every time I complete a flight, it resets itself to preset. Why does this software seem to work differently depending on users? For instance, some are reporting bouncing with AP climb and descend on TBM, but I don’t have that. Longitude? All day, but TBM is fine. The weather seems to work differently too.
Okay wow so some are still having this problem, i can’t get it to fail over here. You are on West Europe too? Set everything to live? There must be something different in our settings that’s causing different behaviour.
For me this was suddenly working today… was not working prior. Others are also experiencing sporadic and inconsistent behaviour. Maybe for me tomorrow it will be broken again… I’m UK, can’t remember which server I default to.
Yeah, I’ve never had it work for me EVER past the first flight since launch day. It’s frustrating, especially since Asobo seem convinced that they’ve solved this and it’s not on their radar currently.
Could it be that it works for me cause I don’t do multiplayer? Try with just AI traffic and see if that changes anything. So bizzare. I can understand why the cats at Asobo are beating their heads against the wall with this. Let’s have some patience with them. I know it’s frustrating.
