I mean i have never seen so many frigging tree’s in all my life, and as much as it does look good from high up. it looks a complete mess from low down.
See existing report:
2024 - TOO MANY TREES are spoiling the realism of the sim. Flying Melbourne Australia and it’s not representative at all with trees everywhere. Dubia does not have the trees or greenery and again makes it unrealistic.
How are the trees generated? Am I remembering correctly that it is some AI business where it places trees “as they are in the real world”?
I ask, because I was flying in California, as I do, and I noted that many of the solar farms we have here are inundated with tress, which would not be correct, whatsoever — you can’t have foliage around solar panels.
This brings me back to my initial question. How are they generated? What would an AI use as a reference to think that there are tress in the midst of a bunch of solar panels?
Is it misidentifying low level weeds/shrubs and blowing them up into full grown trees?
in MSFS 2024 the tree bug (too many trees in places where there are in reality no trees ) has too be fix
despite all other bug , this one is a major bug that spoils the realism of the sim
Bijan Seasons Enhanced is the way to go.
I just opened up FS 2020 a couple days ago, there’s just as many trees in 2020 as FS 2024, maybe even more in some places, especially in the area where I live.
just browse around; tons of alternatives; flightsim.to simmarket and so on; either free or small cost to fix trees size / density.
I’d just like to see the tree types in the Puget Sound region to match real world in the sim. I had to use an addon to do that in 2020.
Bijans seasons are indeed great but also add trees where there should be non. Such as middle of airfields, along motorways and on sheer cliffs.
But i think MS are looking into it on their side if the tree issue, there are far too many and some are WAAAAAY over size too, like hundreds of feet tall
Masking is not the solution; is ok as temporary patch; however one sim update; change the shading; all mask are gone in not time; masking also should be adjusted to existing vectors features such as roads; airports; waters etc etc; if not trees will invade those areas.
They could use the data from openstreetmap dot org instead of AI, the data is manually edited by the community, so anyone here could edit it, see an issue, edit it, and it’s fixed.
Unless your an xbox user
Finally Greenland is green
Even more surprising the ice shelf’s are now littered with huts in some places.
