that uninstall of Zurich makes this not solved probably because I had many similar situations in history that worked at one time and doesn’t at another. Look to other posts that describe same also my post point to some strange that after restart comes to ok, to some users after 3-4 restarts no chance stil… I think it is very big bug about some ’ update’ of settings with some conditions defined in code when and where to save some options. Only Asobo knows…
I think now for sure, this Update is really full of strange bugs, look at picture. LZIB Stefanik Slovakia with 430 feets +/- elevation and with Porter I have cca 200 ft difference. Pls all check Weather Topics here and vote for quick solution because really now I’m sure (also after answer to some questions in Update official topic) that this Update is simply bug master.
Uhm… perhaps we actually are talking about the same problem then. As I already mentioned when I press CTRL + E the propeller actually starts to rotate (but no distinct engine sound is heard, just some general, faint “humming”), but pushing the throttle forward does not increase the engine power (it remains at “idle”).
Plus, the tooltips (which were re-enabled due to resetting my Assistance options all to "easy) kept telling me to start the engine with CTRL + E.
So clearly also the simulation “thought” that the engine was not running yet (despite the propeller spinning).
So when you said that your “stick was not moving” I thought that you were talking about the yoke (“steering stick”).
But are we talking about the throttle now (“aircraft can’t move”)? Because then we are actually talking about the same situation here.
really strange. I have all assistance ok after change to HARD, all checked now, also as I said after PC restart and many FS starts…
I’ll try play with Porter next time today, hope I’ll find something correct to start it. Yes, definitelly can confirm now we talk about same problem, my mistake to not fully checked all gauges and options, sry.
I looked for it yesterday in all versions, no luck. Very annoying that we have no idea what rudder trim settings we have prior take off (the steam gauge version has an elevator trim indicator at least). IRL it is very important to properly trim the Porter before flying, many accidents with the type were caused by wrong trim settings.
Yes, it is. As far as I know, it was installed as part of a service bulletin to prevent trim related accidents.
I also found out today that the steam version has no rudder trim (?), at least I found no control for that in the cockpit, only elevator and aileron trims. Strangely enough, rudder trim works with my key bindings on my throttle.
The glass cockpit version has rudder and elevator trim, but no aileron trim installed.
Again, we are back to the topic where we discuss how badly MS needs to provide a simplified manual of their planes. Nothing fancy, a 10-15 pages simplified manual, basic performance data, specs, installed equipment, checklist to print.
Thank you! Yes, it was the root cause for me. It is easy to overlook when doing manual start, and it seems that CTRL+E does not set it correctly either.
The glass cockpit version has no engine instruments! I cannot get either version to start, there is no fuel flow no matter where you set the fuel control valve to.
