TLDR: I cannot retrieve throttle control when landing. And ATC likes to announce go-around just as I about to touchdown.
I am finding I cannot control the engine throttle. In this video I loose throttle control at 2:20. I am on total auto at this point until I announce a go-around later on. 31:10 coming into land. I cannot do anything about the speed (195kts). I announce go-around. I gain throttle control back fully (34:47)
I come for next landing all looks good this time. As I am about to touch down, the ATC announces go-around. This means I lost my clearance to land.
I take off the ATC and finish the landing. One small bounce, I know. It is only my 3rd passenger landing.
I am guessing the ATC announcing is just a bug. I can solve that by turning the ATC off. Does anyone know why I am not meant to have throttle control ? I can see why it gives it back, the plane system is expecting a full climb again.
You have to disengage the Auto-Throttle if you want your throttle control back on approach. I find that pushing the A/T button is not enough, you have to flick the A/T Arm switch down for both engines.
As for ATC telling you to go around. It depends on the situation, if you fly with Live Traffic and the traffic is very close to you for landing, chances are the ATC will pick one and tell them to go around. But for me, I usually just keep going to go ahead and land anyway.
Here is my MSFS personalized procedure for default 787-10
— After Descent 10000ft —
Spoiler - Arm
Autobrake set to 2 for dry (3 wet, max for short rw + wet)
Landing Lights - ON
2500 Callout → Full Flap (which one you are going to land) and Gear Down
-OR- flaps and speed as follows
10 NM to Airport → ~180kts Extend Flaps
5 NM to Airport → ~ 160kts (auto throttle off (set both down)) adjust speed if you want.
PFD will show rollout etc. Around 50-40 callout i cut throttle. Plane has already flares at this time.
Hope it helps
EDIT: Checked your video your speed is too much at first tries. Set keybinding for Reversethrust as well. Since you are not flying in cockpit i can not comment more. May be study level pilots can
