Just finished a 1/32 model of this very aircraft and now its flying!

Always loved the Tempest (and the Typhoon.)
I’d like to see them come to the sim.

I understand that the aircraft is now at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

The Typhoon has long been a favourite of mine. Having known a gentleman who flew the Typhoon during the war does make it a little bit personal. I had the privilege of letting him loose on a SEPECAT Jaguar (on the ground!!) and after he had spent a good 3 hours with a young tradesman I asked him what he thought of the Jaguar’s electronic suite, moving maps, weapons aiming kit etc. Didn’t have that on the Typhoon, he told me, just a bit of chewing gum stuck on the windscreen. Ah well, I responded, this is a jet and attack approach speeds are round 450 kts. “Aye, that’s about the same as the Typhoon.”

On static at IWM Duxford yesterday.

There is a YouTube video of the first flight at Sywell for those interested.
