:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
N/A (fresh install, no mods/addons or other content installed). Yes, still an issue without any mods.

  2. Description of the issue:
After the initial install of MSFS, and after accepting the default recommended values during setup (e.g. graphics - high end), if the game is displayed on a 55" 4K HDR-enabled monitor, nothing is displayed - just a black screen.

:white_check_mark: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)
Every time on sim-load.

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Install MSFS 2024 onto a PC connected to both a 1080p display & a 55" 4K HDR-enabled TV.
The game window should show on the 1080p display during installation.
  2. After completing the Setup steps, change from full-screen to windowed-mode & move the game window to the 55" monitor.
The window changes to black - switching between full-screen & windowed mode makes no difference.
  3. Move the window back to the 1080p monitor so that the opening UI with flight choices and world map displays again.
  4. Go to settings > General and turn off HDR10
  5. Move the window back to the 55" monitor.
This time, the UI should show, although there is also text corruption in the UI
(Text Corruption is filed as a separate bug here).

Update: I downloaded v32.0.101.6299 last night from here & installed. It does NOT appear to have addressed this issue, but I need to test more to confirm this.

[Edit: Still broken. Moving the screen from the 1080p monitor with HDR enabled gives this:

Resizing the window or going to Full Screen results in a black screen as before.

Update: This issue still occurs with Intel’s driver v32.0.101.6314.

Hi @LuckyKimiTLY

Update: This is fixed on my PC with Patch #3 (build v1.2.7.0) No more black screen or odd graphic circles when displayed on my 55" TV:

Can you confirm it is fixed on your system too? - Thanks!

Good for you! Unfortunately mine still not working after the update. I’m in driver 32.0.101.6319.

Hi @LuckyKimiTLY ,
That’s not good
I’m still on driver v32.0.101.6314.
I saw nothing in the MSFS v1.2.7.0 release notes that suggested that this had been fixed, so was surprised that the problem no longer occurred when I enabled HDR.

You might try rolling back to the 6314 version & see what happens. I saw nothing in the Intel release notes for the 6319 version that suggested it fixed any issues with MSFS - 2024, and so perhaps it is incompatible with MSFS 2024 build v1.2.7.0

Are you using Displayport to connect to your monitor? I tried to DDU and roll back to 6314. Same thing as before.

No. HDMI to HDMI, connected with an 8K HDMI Cable: ESTONE High Speed HDMI to HDMI 2.1 Cable Support 8K@60Hz,4K@120Hz, 48Gbps.

I had to change to a Display port to HDMI cable to get my HDR to work on my Intel A770 GPU.

DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 is required for HDR.

Apparently there is an Intel ARC driver issue with Dell AW3225QF. HDMI will not work on A770 with AW3225QF monitor. So DP is my only option and HDR will not work with DP. :upside_down_face:

That’s not good at all
But thanks for posting at it will at least save others with the same Arc/Dell combo from wasting time trying to “fix” the problem.

That monitor has a DP 1.4 port and a HDMI 2.1 port.
There is no reason that HDR will not work.

Unless you have a defective monitor.
At the around $1000.00 price range, return it if you can.

Not that HDR will not work with the monitor. A770 has driver issues with the monitor and can not connect to the monitor via HDMI at all(I am certain because via HDMI works fine under safe mode). Other HDR sources such as MacBook and iPad works fine.
