Hey there !

Flying this beast since yesterday on Xbox Seris X. Really cool. But :

  • After 2-3h of flying, the frame rate drops massively… I red this should be fixed since SU 14 but for me, the problem remains.
  • Does anyone managed to fly it at 60.000 ft at the cruise speed of +300 kt ? I can reach 60.000, but there, the airspeed is just around 90-100 kt, with 100% of power.

Hello,

The framerate drop only happened once for me as I recall, never since. After SU14 I did several long flights and it was all good. Let’s hope SU15 will improve it even more. Sadly this is a bug that’s very hard to reproduce.

At 60,000 ft the air is very thin so the IAS (indicated air speed) will be very low. That doesn’t mean the “actual” speed is slow. Ground speed is probably high enough - I don’t recall the actual numbers but rest assured the Hawk flies as it should in this regard.

Thanks a lot for your quick turn on this.

Yeah, hope this framerate problem will be fixed at some point.

I’m beginner, I didn’t know about airspeed Vs. true airspeed. Interesting. Will have a closer look on the web about this phenomenon.

I had the framerate issue again. Can I ask you what build you are on? Sim Update 14 or SU15 Beta?

I guess I am on SU14 since I didn’t have any update on the Xbox yet

Okay. In the meantime I figured this bug may have something to do with the altitude. My framerate tanked somewhere above 50,000 ft, however as I told the autopilot to descend, I checked it again at around 37,000 ft and performance went back to normal. From there I managed to fly and land without any issues.

Does anyone know if there is a paint kit avail - or how to contact Heaven Design?

You can contact them via their Discord server.

The Global Hawk is now available in MSFS 2024 with a native version, and a free upgrade for existing owners. I did a very brief test flight with it on Xbox.

The drone now has the walkaround feature, with removable chocks, engine covers and pitot covers. It’s nice to see “in person” how huge it actually is. Kudos to the developers for implementing this. The rest of the aircraft is the same as before, although I’m not sure, maybe the G1000 has been updated to a newer version (it’s been a long while since I’ve last flown it). Everything seems to work well on Xbox. Graphics and performance are fine, in fact flying around Madeira I had a surprisingly solid experience, almost as if I was in 2020.

Sadly however, 2024’s streaming method is terrible. Whenever you switch views, it literally takes 1,5-2 seconds for the external model or the control booth (the “cockpit”) to be redownloaded and displayed. Until then you can see your avatar sitting in thin air, or the cockpit view is nothing but an empty view without any instruments around you. Local install of add-ons is really needed.

Other than this awful “streaming” solution, the Global Hawk seems to be very good in MSFS 2024. Again, big thanks to the developers for upgrading it to a native version.

I cant seem to use the clipboard in both this drone and the Hermes 900. Is it just me or something else?

Nothing to use on the clipboard, it’s just a super simple checklist.

Can anyone else connect to satcom? It doesn’t seem to work for me also when I press it.

Strange, it worked fine the last time I used it.
