A very simple little trick I implemented on a old joystick I have here was to use an elastic band wrapped around the joystick grip and it’s catering spring such that the spring was compressed and no longer in play and the stick was completely floppy. Ideal for hell’s and so easy to put on or off if needed. It obviously won’t work for all joysticks but if the spring is exposed it just might.
