Helipad and HPG Airbus H-145 Helicopter

When selecting a variant of the HPG H-145 series and selecting a Heli pad as take-off position, i receive the message " You cannot take-off from a helipad with the selected aircraft". I think MSFS is referring to the Airbus 3XX series.
How can I fix this, besides selecting an aiport with runway and taking off from there?

I think this is because MSFS doesn’t recognise it as a Heli as it doesn’t use their published kit for Helis. Therefore, it can only be positioned on a parking spot or a runway.

If I remember correctly someone did post a way to get it recognised by changing the category in the config files. I didn’t bother


I tend to pick a parking spot somewhere awy from main traffic and treat it as a helipad. ATC doesn’t like that though! Naughty me, taking off without permission!

So what happens if you land the H145 on a helipad on top of a tall building, then try to take off?

the typical “hit an obstacle and aircraft is beyond repair” msg in other words conciders it as a “crash”

So that kind of Helipad allows a takeoff, but others do not?

So that type of helipad results in the same type of error as a helipad at an airport?

I found a solution to this problem. This is not an H145 or MSFS issue, it’s a misassigned UI in livery. After the introduction of helicopters, the UI is as ‘Rotorcraft’, not ‘Helicopter’. This is a problem with livery having an inappropriate UI.

Solution: the livery must have ui_typerole=“rotorcraft” in the aircraft.cfg, change it yourself or ask whoever created it this livery to change it.

i have the h145, never had this issue.

Yup, spot on. Its been a known issue since Asobo officially launched helis in the sim.

Newer liveries for the H145 don’t have the issue. Its the older ones you need to look out for.

take off on the selected helipad (EGLW) is impossible
landing there is not an issue

tried EGLW?
(london city heliport) take off gives error msg, landing ther is no issue

Think i have before just fine. But i’ll try it in the next few hours, and report back,

EGLW -checked just now. Everything working.
You need to changed in livery config file, not H145 config file.

Only problem with EGLW I have is that heli spawn with engines running like helipad is the runway, not parking parking spot like should really been.
