Hi guys,
I had a CTD earlier today on a southern approach into VHHH. Restarted the flight and time-accelerated to the same spot to resume the descent. It got a bit further but then started stuttering and CTD-ed again. The following are the Event Viewer logs associated with this crash.
I was flying the default 747 and there are no custom sceneries loaded. The only addons running are toolbar pushback an ctrl+z stats. System has way more memory than it needs and not under any kind of hardware stress either whatsoever. (5600G + 32GB DDR4 + 3070Ti + NVMe SSDs all round).
I’ve just returned from a 2-month hiatus due to being overseas on work trips and this is driving me slightly mad - the sim was working perfectly prior. Obviously no hardware or software changes have been made during my absence. Please help!
Hi @nicky9499
Do you have FSUIPC installed? If so, you might try disabling it & any apps that use it & see if you still get the CTDs.
I’d also suggest ensuring that both Windows & any Apps you have installed are up-to-date - check in Windows Settings / Windows Update and “Check for updates” in the downloads section of the Microsoft Store.
Yes, I noticed mention of that in the logs. However it is already the latest release (Apr 1, v7.5.3) and disabling it is out of the question as virtually all my flights are flown with VA ACARS in addition to tracking software like Volanta and other Discord plugins. Even with those disabled, FSUIPC and ACARS must still run.
I’ll post to the simFlight board to seek help with regards to FSUIPC specifically.
I’m not suggesting you disable this permanently - just temporarily to try to narrow down the cause of the CTDs.
John Downson has replied and categorically stated that the FSUIPC mentions are a result of MSFS’ CTD, not the cause.
However narrowing my search filter right down to this even still does not reveal any further clues or other addons/programs misbehaving.
