Hello; newbie here and I would appreciate your help since I can’t find how to access to the Discovery Flight. I downloaded the game from Xbox gamepass for PC, my update o version is 1.12.13.0, I downloaded the content for this update that says a Discovery Flight (USA East Coast) is included. But I can’t find it nowhere in game, all I have is World Map, flight training, Activities and Current Spotlight Event, Paris Charles de Gaulle landing challenge, which I completed hoping it would change but it did not. Please tell me what I’m doing wrong. Thanks.
It was a spot light activity and is no longer available with version 1.12.13.0. It has been replaced with the Charles De Gaulle landing challenge. (Unless XBox version is different from PC)
The discovery flights are only active for 1 update, then get removed and replaced with the next patch.
If you do a forum search, you’ll find people have posted the flight plan for both the USA and Japan discovery flights that you can download. Then you can fly them at your leisure with any plane you choose vs the plane that’s assigned to you in the discovery flight.
As the others said before, it can only be done during the spotlight month, although you may be able to change that in the files.
Thank you all for your answers, but what makes me wonder is that the current update states that the Discovery Flight included is the one on the East Coast, however I’m still looking at the Charles de Gaulle one. Do you mean that actually the USA East Coast one is older, and was replaced by the Paris one?
Thanks
Yes. The East Coast USA Discovery Flight came out with November’s USA World Update. It was live for 30 days only. Then it was removed and replaced with the CDG Landing Challenge with December’s Sim Update 2. Each one of these “events” or tours is only live for 1 month.
Lol and I was thinking my game was broken or something. Thank you very much!
Like I said, do a forum search. People have posted the .pln flight plan for both the Japan and USA discovery tours. You can download them and fly them if you want.
I am not sure if I can do that because my game is from Xbox gamepass fpr PC, and I believe i have no access to its files and folders, I know it is installed somewhere in my C drive but I can’t actually see it. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
Yes you can load external .pln files. Tap the space bar when you’re at the world map screen. You can both save and load flight plans
Crunchmeister, where should I put those .pin files if i have no access to the game directory? Thanks again for your help.
@SoullessBog4 Installing MFS through GamePass doesn’t limit you in any way (I installed through a trial GamePass subscription). Granted, the “default” install path can be troublesome in some cases (Community folder buried) but otherwise should work fine. It’s much easier though to select the destination at install time to make the “Community” folder more accessible. Example, I installed MFS directly to my NVMe drive (V: in my case) which I use specifically for MFS and a couple other sim games. I ended up with:
V:\MFS\Official and V:\MFS\Community (this is where all your addons go)
Anywhere you want. You can browse to them like any other file.
Awesoe! I made it, now flying the East coast mission. Thank you!
