Bit of a beginner when it comes to computers so what’s considered simple for many is quite an arduous task for someone like me…
I won a copy of MK’s LEBL at Simmarket so I installed the app, however unlike others stores there seems to be some manual work involved in installing products. It automatically found the path of MSFS on my drive, but it then asked for a temporary download path and then a download path. I just selected my downloads folder for both, saved the settings and proceeded with the download. However there’s no .exe file to install so it looks like I didn’t choose the correct settings?
How do I install products purchased at Simmarket?

The files get downloaded and copied directly to your packages/community folder.
It ended up as a zip file in my downloads folder, with no way of installing into the sim. I’m new to all this but I suspect I selected the wrong paths when setting up the app?
In that case, youll need to unzip the archive abd copy its contents to your “packages/communuity” folder.
The folders location varies depending on where you bought MSFS from. Google “msfs commumity folder” to find out more

To add to what TG is saying, some SimMarket addons use their “Simstaller Technology” (or whatever they’ve named it.) These are usually identified by an Install option in the SimMarket app, whereas other addons will have a Download option. Those go to the SimMarket folder. If the file it downloads is an .exe, you just need to run it like any installer. If the file it downloads is a zip, extract that zip and once again if there’s an EXE, run it, otherwise just copy the contents to the community folder manually.
Case in point, the CAC Winjeel had an update but my options are to Download rather than install. Then I need to run whichever EXE I downloaded.
Thank you, I finally figured it out. MK’s LEBL needs to be installed from the app.
However I just downloaded NZA’s Napier v2 and that doesn’t have any sort of installer (from flightsim.to). I’m new to PC (came from Xbox, which was great for simplicity for a computer dummy like me) and have no clue how to manually install.
Do I just copy the main folder to my community folder? If so, how do I locate my community folder?
Ah, so most addons from flightsim.to (and many other vendors) are meant to just have their contents copied to the Community folder. Figuring out where your Community folder is can be annoying, but once you know you can create a shortcut to it on your desktop so you never have to hunt for it again.

Normally when you buy an addon that doesn’t have an installer, it’ll be a zip file. Inside that zip file you’ll usually have one main folder for the addon. It’s that folder, NOT the zip file, that you want to have in your Community folder.

Thanks. I believe ‘packages’ is another name for one’s community folder?
Packages is the folder that contains the Community and Official folders. You’ll want to put addons inside of the folder named Community only, not Official or Packages itself.

I don’t have a folder called ‘appdata’ in my username folder. They don’t make this easy for the computer dummies…

Be careful with what folder you copy to community as sometimes they are wrapped in a zip and then wrapped again in another folder. You need the folder with the manifest file in its root else it won’t work.

The manifest file has a .json extension, right?
The manifest file is indeed a .json? There is also a layout.json file. Both these files are present in the root of every community addon. This an all of its sub folders and files is what needs to be placed in the community folder before the sim is started.
I purchased a plane from simMarket, it down loaded and i can’t find it anywhere! Tech support said it goes to the App under msfs. Ok, it shows it’s in the library but cant find the library! Not in community folder and cant find the zip file on my PC! Can somebody give me a hand! Thank you very much!
