Helping a Buddy with MSFS Menus using remote view with TeamViewer

I have been helping a friend with menu items and adjustments using TeamViewer on my second monitor.
We fly together, me on my primary monitor and him through TeamViewer on my secondary monitor.
It works pretty darn well. I get a really great Realtime picture of his flying, inside and outside of the cockpit. I can help him with all of the menu choices and adjustments. Although I cannot control his aircraft directly, the use of TeamViewer as a free method to assist a good buddy has really worked well.

Just wondering how many others use this method and do you have any tips or techniques for making the sessions even better.

I configured @RedBaronYYC system from the OS up (OS Settings / MSFS install / Configuration / Mods / Etc…) via TeamViewer.

I use it regularly to support friends / family systems outside of MSFS as well.

Thank you for your reply.
I found it very interesting that I got a pretty good real time picture of his screen while flying.
The scenery was really good when viewing inside or outside the cockpit.
My buddy is not very computer adept so being able to help him navigate through all the MSFS menus was a big help. I was even able to assist him in calibrating his flight stick using windows settings.

I use Team viewer to help my dad with his flight sim if it messes up he is 80 odd and not got much of a clue when it comes to the nvidia drivers or other updates he is unsure off, but put him om msfs and its a different thing altogether lol. I have also used it to sort out friends laptops out too, really good piece of software for free.

TeamViewer and AnyDesk are great options if you need to control your friend’s screen. At least with AnyDesk, you can start multiple sessions simultaneously if your friend has multiple monitors you would like to see or control.

Sometimes Discord can provide a smoother screen share result (especially if you upgrade a server to 1080p/60fps) if you’re trying to teach them how to fly or if they end up using VR someday.

If you want the ability to fly the airplane, then look into YourControls, which is a shared cockpit utility.

Hi there, I hope that I’m not out of line but does both people need to have the same program?

Yes, at least for the programs I mentioned. I know AnyDesk is extremely easy to download and use (no account required), and I suspect Teamviewer would be similar.

Within TeamViewer on the top bar you can select the monitor you want. Or all of them.

Yes, both have to have the program. I start TeamViewer then have my friend start his and read me the ID and password presented on my friends TeamViewer screen so I can connect. As soon as I enter the ID and Password, Viola, I have his screen showing.
