@WellREDBarron Hahaha not feeling THAT nostalgic!
The long load time of the Sim is actually the biggest annoyance with building these bush trips. Any changes I make canât be âreloadedâ in the Sim, so I have to build the package, shut down the sim, than relaunch. It takes 5+ minutes for me to find out if one little change/fix worked. And spoiler alert: most times it doesnât. So I have to make the changes/fix a bunch of times before it works. I never timed it before they took away âPress Any Keyâ but now I am sitting just north of 2 minutes on the launch time for MSFS. Still way too long for the amount of times I have to launch it in a day, but better than it was I am guessing.
@Joburgal Love it buddy! Which leg is that? I think thatâs leg 14 leading to Cx Ranch, on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille?
Yes thatâs the one! It was my favourite of the night legs, definitely makes a difference to have a few runway lights rather than trying to guess where the strip should be in a sea of darkness!
Hahaha runway lights?!?? I included a strip with runway lights!?? I must be losing my edge. No more night landings on runways with lights from here on out!
And with a final emotional approach into the British Columbia sunset itâs done, what a journey!
Building on the above discussion, why constrain yourself with bush trips when you have the whole world to explore? For me personally, with family / work commitments I have a limited amount of time to enjoy the sim. The Bush trips that Mike has created ensure that I have the most amount of awesome flying in the short time I have available, with the best scenery and landing strips within a given region and my own co-pilot pointing out the history and geographical context of the region. When you go on a weekend city break do you just wander aimlessly around the city for two days or do you spend a bit of time beforehand researching the top things to do?
For the last few months I have been fighting a loosing battle with âthe bossâ trying to justify an investment in a second ultrawide monitor so I can use my existing monitor for maps /navlogs and stuff. Finally had a brainwave this morning when gazing over at my work laptop. Click Windows Button + P and connect to wireless monitor. I now have the sim on my main screen and the navlog / skyvector on my touchscreen laptop. Has really helped the sense of immersion without having to have multiple screens open on my display.
Right enough ponderings from me. @MikeBonocore thanks for an amazing adventure and I look forward to the next one
Ah thanks so much man! I knew you would love this one. I got to be honest, I am kind of bummed you are done too! I really love following along as people progress, and yourself, @YYCAviator @BostonJeremy77 and @okestone have been my favorite to follow along with. You guys always keep me up to date and send the best screenshots and videos. Thank you for your support Alastair! Would you mind leaving a review on the North Idaho Bush Trip page? It really helps people understand these are well worth the time and investment. Thanks Alastair!
Also, yeah man! Laptop monitor FTW. I actually only have a laptop PC (Dell XPS, i9, 32GB RAM) but I connect it to my photo/video editing 4k monitor and use the laptop touchscreen for Little Nav Map!
@Joburgal Oh! And did you ever re-fly the redesigned Central Trip? I updated it about a week ago, canât remember if you downloaded it.
Hi Mike I havenât had a chance yet to go back to central but after 30 mins on the balkans bus this afternoon I might just do that!
Also I must check out little nav map, have seen this pop up here many times!
It is a very slick app! You will like it.
Oh yeah man. Little Nav Map is King!!! Itâs so great. So much easier for making flight plans and saving them as .flt and than following your flight in real time. Also, you can use it with Google Maps, Chart maps, etc. Check out this thread on AVSIM https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/548994-new-maps-for-lnm
I flew the redesigned Central!!! Itâs WAY better now, if that was possible. Thanks again, Michael!
Thanks @BostonJeremy77! You have been a great Beta tester for me
Itâs my pleasure!
PSA! The latest version of Bush League Legends XCub Performance Mod and my Bush Trips do not work together, unfortunately. I will be testing this out tomorrow and hopefully finding a way to get their mod to work in my Bush Trips. Stay Tuned!
Interesting. Why would that happen? I havenât flown your trips with the latest one⊠1.6 was the last one I used. Currently donât have it installed cause I removed most AC mods prior to installing the newest update.
@BostonJeremy77 Not sure. I hopefully will find out tomorrow. I have to finish this video edit before I can get back to the fun stuff
On their website it says 1.7.7 corrects the title so that it works with Bush Trips? And I see you checked out Bush League Legends.
I have! I have been following them for a while since you told me
Yeah, maybe the people reporting the problems donât have the latest version. Wish I could test but if I start, I will get sucked in and I canât cause I have to finish this video
